Hi folks! I have full confidence that someone can help me with this.

I'm in the process of replacing the front woofers and tweeters. The component Focal speakers I'm wanting to fit have a supplied crossover box. Can I wire up the "IN" to the box to the original point that the door speakers were connected to? I've highlighted the wires I'm talking about, in the picture.

It has an aftermarket Pioneer h/u.

    Cheers, Mog.

  2. I'm not sure what radio you have, but in general the following holds (see attached schematic)
    1. radio has inbuilt crossover and/or dedicated amplifier to drive tweeter, midrange, woofer (if you have one)
    2. as such you can't connect external crossover between radio & speakers in all instances eg for tweeter or woofer speaker
    3. if the speaker is a full frequency range driver than this would be ok
    4. very important to make sure your new speakers are NOT a lower impedance (ohms) than the existing speakers.eg if the car speakers are say 16 ohms then you cannot connect for example 8 ohm speakers

    Thanks Zoto.

The head unit is a Pioneer AVH-Z7200DAB and the speakers I'm wanting to fit are Focal Auditor ASE-130.
