I've got a set of Yellowstuff pads to go on the rear and thought I'd check before starting. Do I need a brake piston rewind tool or piston compressor to push the Pistons back? Thanks
Yes.i got one from ebay, couple of quid. Halfords etc will sell them but you'll pay a premium. I think you can do it by improvising (pliers or similar) but the wind back tool is much easier. Either way, the piston will need winding back in. Each side is a 10 min job too if you have one.
must the piston literally be screwed back in like on some older renaults with bendix rear calipers, or does "winding back" just mean pressed back in (normally using a winding tool) ? edit: nevermind - judging from the tools available on ebay, they clearly actually turn the piston back in..
