250 - Rear Brakes

  1. I've got a set of Yellowstuff pads to go on the rear and thought I'd check before starting.

Do I need a brake piston rewind tool or piston compressor to push the Pistons back?

    Thanks

  2. Wind back tool for the 225 so guess it will be the same, not 100% on that though

  3. Yes.i got one from ebay, couple of quid. Halfords etc will sell them but you'll pay a premium.

I think you can do it by improvising (pliers or similar) but the wind back tool is much easier. Either way, the piston will need winding back in. Each side is a 10 min job too if you have one.

  4. Thanks, I've just ordered one from eBay only £5.

  5. must the piston literally be screwed back in like on some older renaults with bendix rear calipers, or does "winding back" just mean pressed back in (normally using a winding tool) ?

edit: nevermind - judging from the tools available on ebay, they clearly actually turn the piston back in..
