been out of the game for 12 months but looking for a 250 maybe. am I right in thinking the cups have the lsd? I'm going to look at a 250 cup with black leather so assume ff too? any ideas guys?
Either leather recaros or leather standard seats means it's ff, the standard seats are super comfy and heated The cup cars were both cloth.
It's the right choice, honestly having had the recaros they look nice but are much harder and don't really hold you any better. Plus, heated seats in the winter are a joy.
lol had a sit in some leather recaros the other day and it was a chore to get in them, we would wreck them in a month between me and the missis.
I really don't know what folks issues are with the recaros. I love them and don't think the car would be the same without them! And as for getting in and out them they aren't that bad!
I've had the old Meg for 4 1/2 years with std and recaro seats and they were fine but the new ones are a little too hardcore for me, I find it quite a pain in the arse to lift yourself in and out so you don't damage them which you will with normal use, you only have to look at the sh cars out there with them in to see what normal use does lol I do like them don't get me wrong but like I've said the side are a bit too high to make it a good option for a daily drive really.
Recaros and cup were the only optional extras that was a must when buying my 250. I don't find the seats too hard or a chore getting in and out. The car has 63kmiles on and the seats look great still
they would have been for me too till I sat in some lol, I can't say I'll miss getting in them though.
right looked at a car today and unsure if cup or not now, advertised in the advert as cup chassis but dealer is unsure. it hasn't got red calipers and has everything a ff car would have, leather heated seats, climate control etc got 18" alloys too. anyone else got a ff cup that could help? seen a few on eBay with the same spec that says it's got the cup chassis so I'm thinking it is but I couldn't find any evidence to back this up in the paperwork.
says in the Renault spec sheet the cup comes with red calipers but that is on a cup car not a ff that has had the cup chassis added as an option.
like l you've just said red calipers mean not cup in the other post ha ha. like I said last post red calipers according to the Renault spec list should indicate cup?
ignore that just re read it and you mean no red means not cup lol my grammar is awful ha ha added a comma in lol
Read it again... So the lack of red calipers means it's NOT got the cup chassis. /edit sometimes I write in an unusual order
I did mate look at the post above lol. it seems strange that it was advertised as having the cup chassis? what wheels came with yours too mate?
These are the ones mine came with: http://cdn.wemotor.my/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Renault-Megane-RS-250-Cup-079.jpg I've seen some VERY late 250's with the 265 wheels (which I actually prefer but hey....) but tbh the reason for it being advertised wrongly is likely they haven't a clue what they're selling. I think the only way to be 100% sure it's actually got the cup chassis is the do a test for the LSD OR get a friendly dealer to pull it up on their system. Is it advertised online anywhere? I did take a look but couldn't find it.
Oh I forgot as well, grooved discs are cup chassis standard fitment as well. Obviously they can be changed but if it's got plain discs, grey calipers... it's screaming non-cup. I could be wrong too but I think those wheels only came on non-cup cars in anthracite. So could have bee sprayed.
That does not have the cup chassis. Those wheels are an option on the ff 'sport' Edit. As grumpy says. They're normally anthracite the black was an option.
saw in the option list a satin black alloy didn't know if this was the one from the cup or not. the pic isn't the same car but are the same wheels.
yeh I saw that but didn't know which wheels were the cup ones. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=371430739148&globalID=EBAY-GB car is the same as in the link but states in the ad cup chassis. but I wasn't convinced due to the lack of cup additions lol
Looks like it's a ff 'sport' without the cup chassis. Another thing that will give it away is the tyres will be 225/40/18. The cup has 235. And it doesn't have grooved discs.
It's definitely not got the cup chassis. You would know straight away when you drove it anyway. You'd notice the difference with no lsd
Amen to that. My recaros in my Clio are great. I always get a bad back in cars but never had any grief with my recaros. Just right and feel super snug I love them.
