Just wondering what some peoples thoughts are on these dropping any lower in the short term ive noticed 250's around the £12k mark but nearly 3 years old comparing that to my R26 which was worth alot less in the same time frame People's thoughts on future values are much appreciated
What people forget though is you could get a brand new R26 for around £16k, the 250 / 265 are a lot more expensive than the R26 was. It's all relative IMO
Megs are 50% of their value at 4 years old. After that they will continue to fall about 1-2k per year and level out at about 6k
Usual (reverse)exponential curve of value against time. They drop like a stone over 3-4 years and then plateau out as they drop below 10-12k.l (roughly 1/3rs rrp) Personally as mines not on finance I couldn't care less. I can't see me getting rid any time soon unless I stump up the money for a newish Cayman.... The used car market is more complicated though than the above, lots of factors including old model values and perceived quality/performance vs new models. Remember Renault haven't really moved on much.
who gives a flying f@#k all cars lose value my type r lost a bomb my wifes corsa vxr lost a ton of money the only decent car ive had which has not lost cash is the focus rs
I went to renault Manchester to look at that rather nice arctic white 265 which worked out as a similar monthly payment for my car now. I asked for a quote on how much it would be worth after 4 years and 40k miles. They claimed it would be 6500 down from £23k, say that's a trade price and say a private sale may be £9k that's still a £14 k loss at least. After thinking about that I was put off buying a 265, no wonder I don't see many about!
if you don't see any about it will only push prices up. A 2010 plate 250 cup variant currently retails at 13.5k
If you don't want to loose to much money then go for it http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...ynew,new/radius/1500/keywords/r 26r?logcode=p Nice example, just next to me.
