Hi, Anyone got any experience with the K-TEC short shift they sell for the 250/265? http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=5321&catid=&appid=20&pic=2 Wondered if it makes a similar difference like the R26 version does? Thanks
Hi, Ive purchased an exhaust that that was of such poor quality that the mechanic fitting it said he wouldn't bother fitting it as it was rubbish in his opinion. And a set of grooved discs didn't fit right. And a Ktec sports cat that was on a car i bourght broke. So personally i would look elsewhere.
RS-R have just posted 2 video's to show the before and after - they don't mention its the M-tec - but it has to be - have a look at this Pete - https://www.facebook.com/RS-Racing-264094297084252/?fref=nf For the money - its got to be worth the punt anyway I would of thought.

I went the DIY route and successfully created a great short shift mod to my 265. You do need to be aware though although it cost less than £1.50 the greef factor of removing and then accurately reinstalling the battery tray, water drain pipe, ECU and surrounding vehicle main wire loom is high. Also drilling the new ball stud hole must be done correctly, if you mess up your gear lever could end up at funny/awkward position plus the existing gear cable could be compromised and chafe itself over time (you can however easily go back to the original fitting). So a relatively high amount of spanner knowledge needs to be employed.

Still is much easier than fitting this mtec shifter. Battery tray needs to be removed regardless of which route you go. Ecu and water drain pipe? don't need to be removed i didn't. The main problem is the slave cylinder pipe bracket fouls the modified arm. Will take the average diyer about 1hr-1.30 to do the mod as per my write up.
