225 vs R26 shockers

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Cb225, Jan 17, 2015.

  1. Hi guys, i have a 07 plate 225 lux and have just bought some H&R springs. Now before i pay for someone to fit them i didnt no if it would be a good idea to change the shockers at same time as i believe there not the easiest of jobs so rather than pay twice sort of speak! Or am i just wasting money as there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with my current ones, but if i were to get new ones would i be best with the r26 shockers is there sny difference? Any help/advice would be great.

    Cheers

It's worth doing and changing to R26 dampers. I changed the dampers and top mounts when I fitted Cooksport springs and noticed the difference.

  3. I there any difference between the 225 shocks and R26 shocks

  4. Do you know if 225 Trophy shocks are the same as 225 or R26?

  5. No idea mate, had clio sports for the last 10years so new to the megane range!!! Sure someone will answer that for us though.

  6. All the cup pack dampers are the same (trophy, cup, r26).

  7. Bugger, means I need to uprate the whole lot then.

    Might aswell fit coilovers.

    Thanks Lee.

  8. Or leave as is cos its already (Cup) upgraded . . . (-:

  9. Thats my point, its crap and its already the better stuff.

  10. I put brand new cup dampers & cooksport springs on my 225 cup & the re-fresh made a 100% difference. Well worth it imo

  11. How much was that Lee?

  12. I was under the impression R26 dampers were slightly different to the cups along with the springs?

  13. No the r26 has the cup pack just like a cup & a trophy. They all have the eibach springs too. The r26 has a larger diameter front anti roll bar & has a rear roll bar where as the cup doesn't.
