225 oil return/drain gasket leaking

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Carl mcintosh, Feb 2, 2019.

  1. Hi guys as above. I have got the smell of burning oil coming through the car and had some smoke coming through the vents. I have tracketed the leak and it’s the flange that goes in the turbo the oil drain line. The oil is burning off on the manifold.

What is the best way to get access to this to change it.

Can not get access from underneath the car. So presume the engine will need to be pulled forward or lean it to get to the flange.

Anyone else had this problem and best way to do it.

Already got gasket coming from RPD.

    TIA

I had this on mine, oil usage was getting worse and the smoke was also getting worse, it is possible to get the lower pipe out without removing the engine, but its a struggle and you have to be patient

I replaced the gasket and added some sealer as well and it was still leaking and burning oil on the exhaust.
So in the end i pulled the engine out and this is what i found.

This is the small pipe that is attached to the turbo, not the semi flexible one that goes into the engine block.

  4. Thanks for the response, I will definitely have to check that pipe
