I have a megane 225 5 door I purchased a couple months ago, it's a 57 plate with nearly 40000 on the clock, but thought I wouldn't take the risk, so took it to a Renault specialist in oxford for a full service, cambelt, drive belt tensioners and water pump. When the car went in there was no noises from the car at all, sounded perfect, Now I get a funny droning noise from the cambelt area! Seems to be middle of the engine! Some times it's very quite, some times louder I asked the garage and they said probably ac pump or alternator! So brought a scope and checked! No them What could it be! Only started since having the belts done Thanks Dan
