Hello, My 225 cup is in some serious need of new discs the previous owner had the discs recut but I'm thinking they're now wrecked as they were shocking when I bought the car so I replaced the pads with new brembo pads got some racing blue brake fluid, fitted it all thinking they should stop good however they're still shocking! So my question is.. New discs are needed but the price of the genuine ones I could do without right now.. However are they worth the money? I've read they're carbon are they that much better than cheaper discs? Or are there any other cheaper alternative that work just aswel? Thanks in advance.
Hi Paul Brembo high carbon disc's aren't that expensive about £80 ish http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391217560...9&_trkparms=gh1g=I391217560536.N36.S2.R2.TR13 They are very good, better if you use ds2500 or the ds1.11, i was going to buy some EBC's but was warned away from them, i suppose it is what you are going to use them for, just road, road/track etc
Thanks for the reply Ian, They're very reasonably priced! But I do quite like the drilled or grooved disc to try and keep it oem Well the cars a weekend ish car, will be used for road mainly but the odd track day although I'm still a novice lol
I've used this chap a lot on clios. Delivery is brilliant. http://www.roadtrackraceparts.com/shop-by-car/renault/megane-mk2/renaultsport-megane-225-230.html
The ones you linked me too, the owner of the company commented on my status on Facebook and I ended up buying plain hc brembo
Received the discs today! Amazing delivery! Fitted them this evening but they still seem slack.. They're sharp the slightest touch of the pedal but any more than that they aren't all that tbh.. I know you have to run them in ect but I was hoping for better :/
I got 2 genuine drilled disks from Dave at Renault Wolverhampton the other week for my 225 Trophy. £108 plus P&P Excellent service and prices.
Got new pads and new aet racing blue brake fluid that's gone in, I'm gunna give them another bleed on the weekend
