225 Coolant Type Question

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by mikep, Jun 7, 2014.

  1. Morning all, hope you're all well.

Sorry if this is the wrong place, I'm not a regular forum user, but nobody I know has been able to help me and I want to get this right. I need to top up my coolant in my 2006 225, which I've owned for six months. I'm not sure if the coolant in there is renault-recommended or not, but it is a different colour to the one which I was going to use. It is a relatively thin looking red liquid. Can anyone shed some light on what this might be, and what I should top it up with?

    Thanks

    Mike

  2. Renault type D coolant. It's green in colour.

  3. R26

As above type d coolant is green, but don't mix it with your current red stuff.

  4. Thanks for the info guys. How do I drain out the existing coolant?
