Morning all, Have had my megane 225 05 plate Mk1 for about 6 weeks now. Drives okay and power seems to be there. There is a few thinks I want to do before adding some mods and getting more power. Which will hopefully be done at RS tuning in the new year. So far I want to. Replace the spark plugs; any suggestions welcome. Replace coil packs. Is there a way to know if this is actually required? Turn of the TPMS system; Renault dealers near me are useless and wont turn the system off but instead charge me £150 to change the faulty one. Anywhere else I could go? Anything else you would do? Car has done 56k miles and service due in 12k miles. Cambelt already done. Lastly is the power at the lower end of the rev range meant to be quite laggy? Anything below 4k rpm is terrible.
Spark plugs you want the oem NGK PFR7Z-TG. Coil pencils are by Beru, but they should be ok unless you suspect otherwise. Find a Renault specialist who has the Clip diagnostic software to disable the TMPS for you, should be £30-40. Power below 4k should be fine really, my brother's 225 comes on boost at 2-2.5k.
Cheers guys. Getting car serviced, oil and filter change, spark plugs. Coil packs are okay apparently so will leave for now. Will also clean as much as I can. Throttle body etc. TPMS system will have to wait for now. It's a right pain though. Also want to sort out some decent suspension and disc's and pads. Rear and front strut braces as well.
