200 Steering Wheel - Airbag Removal

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by WaterBug, Jun 7, 2015.

  1. Hi all
I bought myself a 200 Steering Wheel and I'm having great difficulty trying to get the airbag off it. Iv read that you have to push in the pin on the back and then slide the airbag off but mine will not budge am now starting to ruin the airbag with struggling with it. Haven't even attempted the original on the car yet!
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    I find it really easy!

I usually use a 7mm allen key and push hard and straight down to unclip it.

  3. i had the same problem, its not as easy on the 200 wheel, push the spring clip in and really give it death, you won't break it, but you really need to pull from the top of the airbag, it will come off, in comparison the r26 airbag is a doddle.

  4. Cannot do it, I have got me and my friend wrestling it... Ruining it and it won't budge, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong

  5. don't try and push it up, it won't come off, you need to push the spring clip in and then pull from the top, mine was a complete bastard to get off, it really needs some force.

  6. Yeah that's right just realised lol. I messaged the seller and he said
"they are quit tight to get off you nead to push the two clips in and pull the bag out at the bottom then it sould come past the top clip abit more easily"
So I managed to do it, the rest was easy... Straight fit much better than original.
    Thanks everyone for you help!
