2.0 megane 175 oil leak

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by James1993, Mar 13, 2024.

  1. New to renaults so looking for advice , i bought a nice little megane 2.0 175 , didnt notice untill today its caked in oil behind the arch liner on the driver side, i assume its an oil seal. Basicly my question is , is it common , will it do damage and how much is the fix. If its not technical i could do it myself but if the timing needs played with then i wont go near it. Thanks any help is appreciated ,...... I also dont really like the way it drives so if anyones looking for a 175 dci then let me know it is just a gap car untill summer for me.

Right or left hand drive ???? front or rear arch liner ????
If right, then its more than likely a CV boot.

  3. Right hand drive and its on the driver front , looks like proper black engine oil tho not greasy , had a better look today it seems to be on the front of the sump next to the oil filter aswell , il get a picture tomorrow
