Alright Guys. Have broken down this morning in My 265cup 2014, was driving down the road when got a warning on the dash saying check ESC, engine was still running at this point but there was no throttle response, came to a halt. I turned the ignition off and on again to try to restart the engine but nothing. Bloke from Green Flag came out checked everything he could and said seem to have power everywhere you should, he wanted to check small electrical box at front right of engine bay but couldn’t get access. I am now awaiting recovery. Warnings I am getting on the dash are Check ESC, Check Ignition and Check Stop Start. Anyway question is has anybody got any idea what the problem is or what has gone wrong? As always any help/info greatly received. Cheers Chris.
Yes was the ECU that had failed. Got it sorted at Rentech about 8 months ago. Car is still in road in daily use I’m glad to say.
Did you manage to test the ECU before repair/replacing it ?? Or just swap it ? Which one was it (location would be handy ) rough price ?? Did you fit a cooling duct to it ?
Rentech in Portsmouth sorted it for me.(car was off the road for around 1 month, because I was trying to find possible issue)I believe got a replacement ECU, has got 2 year warranty no issue since. My car has completely standard engine. When you say location I guess you mean ECU? No extra cooling was fitted. Was about £800-£900 I believe. Would have to check
Rentech gave me couple of options, for repair, I went with tried and tested one. My location is South East England, Rentech Portsmouth is about 1 hour away from me. If you want company that done ECU can probably find info for you off the receipt?
