Megane II radio locked

Hi! My car radio is locked, and I don't have the unlock code. It probably happened after I changed the battery—now it just says "CODE". Have you ever had this happen? How did you fix it?

I kept looking and found an alternative that didn’t require removing the radio, but everything I found was a paid service until I finally came across this free tool: https://radiocodeauto.com/renault-radio-code-megane/. It generated the code for me in 30 minutes using the VIN, and it worked. I recommend it in case anyone else needs it in the future.
