250 Clunk noise from brake pads

  1. Hi,

my 250 makes a clunkish sound when changing direction (fwd, bwd), then braking (lightly). Only this formula produces the clunk.

I've found out that it's due to the front pads moving back and forth in the caliper. It has CL5+ pads, and the holes for the pins are significantly larger than the pin diameter.. Has anyone else experienced this problem, or am I perhaps missing some brake hardware that should take care of this?

IIRC, the sound wasn't there just after installation, so it's kind of of strange what could have changed.

  2. Hi! Don't worry, is totally normal. Brands like Carbone Lorraine, Endless, Ferodo, etc...make this pads focused to a racing use, so they don't worry about shims or noise plates. In a track day, for example, the confort don't care. I have ran with a lot of racing pads and all make that noise, along with the final scream!

  3. Hi!
I'm not worried about safety, etc, I just would like to get rid of the noise :-D

So if anybody have any good ideas, then ... (besides suggesting to install OEM pads, of course ;-)

  4. I´m afraid you'll have to accustom to that noise if you want to have a decent breaking. In time, you end up liking it!!:tonguewink:
