Megane 4 RS - hesitation under load

  1. Hello,

I recently joined the RS fold, having purchased a 2018 Megane RS 280 EDC.

On my drive home from collecting the car I noticed what I would describe as a constant surging/loss of power under acceleration. Tick over etc is steady and the problem is much less noticeable (almost undetectable when driving gently or around town etc.

Thankfully the car came with a pretty comprehensive (if there is such a thing!) 1 year warranty. I called the local Renault garage and they immediately tell me that there is an outstanding recall for the fuel pump. Given the characteristics of the fault, it would certainly point to a fuelling issue, however, from doing some reading up online it seems that if there is a fault with the fuel pump the car would tend to cease to start or else lose all power suddenly and not start again. The symptoms I have are obviously a little different to this.

The car is going into Renault on Thursday to have the fuel pump changed and my hope is that this solves the issue. However, if not, I wanted to check if anyone has had or heard of a similar issue and has any other ideas as to what it may be outside of a faulty fuel pump

    Thanks in advance.
