RS250 abs pump access HELP

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Michaelrs, Jul 24, 2024.

  1. So managed to snap off the o/s front brake pipe when fitting braided lines. All going OK as the pipe wasnt even corroded until the last couple of threads then twist and snap!
The n/s brake line was replaced in all of 10 mins Knew it was going too well !!!!!!!

Obviously now need to replace the hard line to the abs pump which is buried under the scuttle . I have removed the plastic scuttle but can't see how to get at the pump as it's really tight

Anyone know of a guide to get at the pump so I can change the pipe or someone out there knows what needs removed to get at it
All help and assistance appreciated as the cars up for mot in a couple of days

  2. If the ABS pump access proves difficult, an alternative would be to cut the hard pipe back to a suitable location and use a flaring tool to terminate an additional connection in the line. Not ideal obviously, but may get you up and running in time for your MOT.

    I have, on a Mk2.
But it's in the same place on a mk3.
It's an engine out for sure, there is no way it can be accessed without, first if all the heat shield is on the way, it's curves around from the side to the back.
