“Economy” map. R26

Discussion in 'New to the Club? Why not introduce yourself?' started by eddie ninja, May 24, 2019.

  1. So now I’ve achieved all the power/torque I’ll ever want (cough) on my R26 I’d like - if possible - a 2nd lower powered map commuting etc.
I’ve spoken to RSTuning and it’s not something they do funnily enough.
    Does something like it exist?
    Cheers

dont think 2 maps are possible on the standard ECU

  3. Could I fit an upgraded ECU?

  4. why would you want to have 2 maps, you wanted power, you got power, you want economy, buy a diesel  ... i can never imagine i will ask someone to give me 2 maps for less power   .... #jeremyoncesaidpoweeeeeer

  5. Iirc it wasnt available on the mk2 ecu you would probs need a stand alone ecu or something along them lines. I have that on my mk3 when sport button is not engaged its std power. Its ideal when u just want to tootle about and when you fancy a bit hooliganism bang the sport mode on and your off lol.

the cost of a third party ecu and getting it mapped would probley write off any saving in fuel lol

  7. Yea it would be handy. Do you actually get better mpg with it?

  8. Sorry for late reply bud. On a steady motorway trip (which is not often) i normally just leave it switched off and average 35-36mpg. With the map on and on a spirited drive appx 19-20 mpg. Tbh my car doesnt get drove enough to really get an accurate fuel rating, normally just in the work van ( getting 28mpg lol).
