Hey guys. Bought an OBD2 adapter off eBay so I can use the torque app. But its not letting me pair up to my phone. Any ideas why? I've tried "1234", "0000" and "6789" as the pass codes but none work. The device is a Super Mini ELM327 V2.1 OBD2 OBDII Bluetooth Adapter Auto Scanner http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/TORQUE-ANDR...uto-Scanner-/141680322745?txnId=1173610079004 Any help would be appreciated. Cheers. Paul
As per PM mate, mine I'm 99% sure was 1234 pairing code... check that the phone isnt paired with anything else - may be causing a conflict...
Are you trying to pair it to torque? If memory serves me correct you have to pair it with the phone, then open torque, go into the settings, go into the adaptor settings and then select the Bluetooth device. If not done in that order, then it keeps on saying it can't pair even though you are using the correct code.
Just contacted the seller on eBay and they've stated it can't be used on a petrol car. None of this has been stated on the item description either. Is this possible?
its the same ODB I have by the looks of it and '1234' pairs it to my S3 and S5 - maybe worth trying another android phone?
Aye mate I can try that and see if it works. Cheers lads. I'll have a play and get back with my findings. Hopefully I'll get there as its driving me mad atm.
I did see some that specified Diesel in the listings when I was looking... States that it works on all OBD2 cars in their listing (other than Fords) - get your money back mate ! Got mine via slow boat to China, took about 3 weeks but mine started first time and paired without any issues.. Are you getting the Red LED lighting up on it when you plug it into the car ?
Yes mate red light is on. Manager to get it connected now so seems to be working ok. God knows how it works this time around and not before. Just looks like it'll be fun to work seeing as I haven't a clue what I'm doing lol. Cheers anyway guys much appreciated.
Aye that's what I thought. Got it working anyway so its all good now. I've got the pro version mate. Just gotta play about and see which features I would use more than others. Looks a tidy bit of kit though.
