what engine mounts does the 225 have?

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Simonas, Sep 17, 2015.

  1. I have a 225 trophy 2005 and I can see no evidence on history of mounts ever being changed. I'm probably going to do them but have to confess to having no idea what mounts exist in the engine and what I should even be looking for.

    Please enlighten me

  2. 4 mounts in total.

Have a look on Renault parts direct website they list all of them.

    So its these?
    Top mount
    Gearbox mount
    Upper stabilizer mount
    Lower stabilizer mount.

  4. There the ones.

Upper stabilizer and Top mount are both located to the left of the engine, take the plastic cover off surrounding the water bottle.

The gearbox mount is located under the batter tray.

Lower stabilizer mount is located underneath the car, you'll need to take off the tray underneath first.

Changed all mine last week. Make a world of difference, gone from vibrating like a bitch to a new car, so smooth its unreal. Bit fiddly but easy enough to change.

  6. cheers Cavell

did you do it on a ramp?

  7. No mate. I jacked the car up and put wood under the wheels to raise the car up a bit just enough to get a trolley jack underneath the engine so I could support it so it didn't drop when I took the mounts off. Simple enough mate and a decent save on labour costs as well.

  8. how long did it take you roughly Cavell?
