KW V3 Front Struts (damaged)

Discussion in 'Car Parts For Sale' started by Nickson, Jul 18, 2015.

  1. Hi there guys,

Recently bought a set of KW V3's for my 225.
Sadly, one of the front struts has a bent piston rod (pictured), and whilst enquiring about having them repaired, KW informed me they no longer held spares for them and offered me brand new units instead.
I bought the brand new struts, making these surplus to requirements.

Absolutely superb condition bar the bent rod, and I firmly believe they would be fully operational should someone manage to bend it back (it isn't a million miles out, I am just extremely picky about what goes on the car!!).

I firmly believe these will be useful to somebody, either an attempt at being repaired or used for spares.

They come as bare units without any accessories (spring platforms etc).

All adjuster knobs are perfectly operational, and as I have already said, operate normally bar the bent rod.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Brand new, these retail at £400 each from KW.

I'm looking for £100 posted for the pair.

    Cheers.

Hmmm, you can never have enough spares... if nobody has them i'll speak to you about them.

  4. Sounds good mate. Fire over a text or FB message if you want them!

  5. £30 inc postage. Clearing the garage out and these are in the way!

  6. Are these just shocks? Would standard (Cup) springs fit?

    Any advantage over standard shocks?

  7. Are they serviceable units (as in, can you open them and bolt them together afterwards?)
    They are 2 way adjustable?

    Thank you.

  8. If they are serviceable units, I want them for me.

  9. These are just the front two shocks, yep.

They are part of a coilover kit, seen here: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/perfo...oilover-kit-lowers-front-20-45mm-rear-20-45mm - (The image in the advert is not accurate).

This one is of my full kit for reference:

Cup springs will NOT fit, these are designed as a full replacement to standard suspension.

Advantages are endless, these on their own however, are nothing more than excessively heavy paperweights. I am selling these as spares, not as a kit.

These are Variant 3's, and are indeed two way adjustable, both rebound and compression.

They seem serviceable, as in, they appear to unscrew at the top of the shock body where the rod slides into the main body, however I would assume they are not designed to be user serviceable. KW were more than happy to service them, but did not have the spares to replace the bent piston rod, hence me purchasing new units. I am unsure if they are pressurised or anything like that, so any work undertaken is completely at your own risk.

  10. Hello,

    Are this still available?
