Cup S anyone??

  1. Paid less than that for my 265 cup with recaros brand new.

  2. I laughed hard when I read the bit saying you can spec it to the same degree as a Trophy.

    Renault are comical.

  3. yay another version of the megane!!

  4. Everyone that bought a trophy will be sick. Doesn't make them special at all now you can have another model with the same spec.

  5. Does seem like a needless model to release.

  6. Daz

    FLAME RED PEOPLE!

    I'm in

  7. Not at all in, my case at least.

The Trophy is what it is - new(er) cars would always come along as will newer Meganes soon (mk4) - that much is obvious.

The only thing that bothers me a little was that they now offer a red paint option, which I wanted but it wasn't available on the Trophy.

  8. Why? I paid roughly the same for my "Full fat, all singing and dancing, with nearly all the options, Trophy" Surely the people buying the Cup S will be sick ... they don't get half the fun bits that made the Trophy what it is ... without forking out on them

    ..

I do love that red though lol

  9. Point is they can still have them so effectively the trophy is just a Cup S and won't ever be worth anything more.

  10. You're right, might as well take mine to the wrecking yard now ... lol

  11. Silly Renault but ah well. Colour is mega!!!! What's with the Union Jack on the splitter? Is it a UK model only?

  12. That's it, time for the crusher! It is a shame tbh but Renault are notorious for doing loads of different editions of renaultsport cars

  13. Just seen the options price list for the newer models ...

Quite expensive to pull it up alongside the original Trophy. Wonder what discounts you would get if you specc'd the like for like.

  14. You might be lucky and get a discount, but based on the original price without any options added. They work on a fixed discount system that they won't budge from IME.

The Trophy will still have it's 'specialness' (if it ever had) because who is going to spend from that list £4.5k on seats, exhaust, RS monitor & trim and possibly £3k more for wheels and dampers? With the Trophy most of it was included which is why I bought one. If these options were available at the time I placed my order, there is no way I'd have gone for them.

  15. God what is with the stickers!

still dont see how its cheap by the time you have specced the must haves

  16. Anyone know if Renault are doing any good lease or PCP deals?

  17. Considering those types of deals are based on expected depreciation over the hire period, probably not given the high depreciation of Renaults.

  18. Depends how much the manufacturer subsidises a deal. VW gave big subsidies on the Golf R for example. So, you never know...

  19. I'm new to the megane scene so go easy, but I can't really see any differences to my 250?
I can see the front end has had a facelift, and the ECU mapping is different, but is that about it?

  20. Yeah that's about it unless you go crazy with the options.

All mainstream models get an half-term facelift - this is the run out 'update' before the new mk4 Megane comes out next year.

  21. Trophy seats look better with the matching red stitching

  22. Hello, maybe a silly question but are those new versions going to be sold ONLY in UK?

A friend of mine is seriously interested in Italy.

    Please , let me know

  23. But VW know those Golfs will hold their value very well. Compare lease deals and the 265's are literally double the price you could get a Golf R for.

  24. Can almost spec it like a trophy. You can't spec the half the half leather half alcantra interior or the 19 speedline turinis as options on these. They stay Trophy only.

I worked out that to have it the same spec would actually work out more expensive than buying a Trophy (I specced one to the equivalent with 19 steev alloys and recaros grey leather total 35780). So base model spec is cheaper. Start ticking those options and suddenly it isn't so cheap.
