http://www.rsmegane.com/showthread.php?8391-New-Member-Ish On the back of the introduction, i picked up the OG 250 on Monday from Manchester..What a car, i have nothing to pick at!!! Anyway, after being on here fir a couple of weeks prior to picking the car up, i did some research... First off, Mid Box delete, i went to Longlife in Ashington, 60 sheets and im more than happy with the results. The mid box Again, Brilliant results, would recommend to anyone. As the day seemed to be holding nice i decided to get some detailing done, i ordered some more products last night so i thought i would get some layers on before they turned up. Oh she was de Meganed as well Thursday will see me buy the ITG Induction or the Ktec Induction, i haven't decided yet. Im also getting the black insert headlights, Decat pipe EIBACH lowering springs and im still on the fence about black diamonds or not. Anyway, ill upload more pictures as i get more work/give her a clean. Ad
Thanks, couldn't be happier mate. Shes fantastic and i certainly chose the right colour, even if it did take me 3 weeks to chose OG or what ha!
Looks very clean, mine gets the mid box and map next weekend, Personally I won't ever decat, to much of a headache come M.O.T time. Does your little input bit for the stereo not have usb? I do love the colour but when it gets dirty it looks really dull. I went non cup option, makes it a bit more comfy with the leather and softer ride but my god the torque steer is pretty bad without the diff, not that that will get any better after it's mapped next week.
No it doesnt which I was suprised about, it came with the red and white inputs which was a bit of a ball ache, would have preferred the USB and aux inputs so if anyone knows anything about that, like changing it out then that would be appreciated, I have seen this though; http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/121408504674?_mwBanner=1 Which might work?? I had a 182 CUP before this, had to stick with it and most of the reviews all said go for the cup for the LSD.
the red/white RCA/phono connectors *is* an aux input.. just get a 3.5mm jack to RCA/phono cable, and you can hook up your playback device, e.g. this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-5MM-JAC...STEREO-1-5M-/151152634198?hash=item2331662956
Car looks class mate! A remap after your intake and exhaust mods will make a big difference. Health to enjoy.
@scoobyr project thread ( http://www.rsmegane.com/showthread.php?2734-Oyster-Grey-250-Cup ) inspired me to try out some Auto Finesse goodies, as im pretty sure he's sponsored by them So theses turned up this morning. Quite looking forward to trying them out! Also thought i would give this a try, picked it up for under a 5er and it has quite good reviews. Once i have a couple of coats on ill upload the results... it does smell fantastic so if its crap it'll make a nice air freshener i guess Picked up a couple of these for the engine bay and those other lovely hard to reach areas! Ill get some pictures up Saturday evening and let you all know what i think of the products compared to the meguires/autoglym collection im using at the moment, but im sure they'll all be awesome!
Last night after a few days of looking through threads i decided to take the air box out (No easy task mind, but im no mechanic) and remove the sound proofing and modify the box a little. To be honest, the intake was a little cooler today by 1-2 degrees and it sound's better from the outside of the car. Ktec 'claims' their induction kit shows gains but are unwilling to show proof so at the minute im not going to shell over 200 hundred sheets for a noise maker.. the modded air box seems to be the option for now. Anybody who has an upgraded panel filter want to comment on which one seems to be the better performer? I've heard BMC do a decent filter.. any reviews would be good!
what sort of mods did you do to the box? I can't see much can be done, except if you replace the intake snorkel with something of larger diameter?
Section behind the the rubber hole for the CAF cut away.. I know a few guys who have done there's the same way so i thought i would test it on the spare.. Ill probably change it back to the standard when i switch panel filters but it does make a good noise!
Few goods turned up yesterday, black wheel nuts, red Rimblades and the black insert headlights!! Its been quite a productive Saturday.. first off i wanted to get the headlights in.. of course! I did notice that the chrome headlights had an extra bulb slot.. but im not sure what the bulb was for, maybe someone can shed some light (Second in from the left) Chrome Lights And the new black headlights had the bulb slot but no connection or front hole, so you cant even see the bulb front facing..???? Black Lights Clear bulb is the one that came out of it
Anyway, it had been on off raning all morning and i really wanted to try out the new Auto Finesse products and the DODO Juice Purple Haze wax i bought a sample off, not one to be defeated by old mother nature, i parked up under the arch to my apartment block car park and cracked on! First off, doused her in AF Iron Out, bleeding wasn't to bad however i think i may have rinsed a little early so im going to pick up another bottle and go over again just to make sure! It finally stopped raining and le sun came out, luckily the arch kept me in the shade so i cracked on with the rest of the clean.. Cleaned up the engine using AF Citrus Power (Amazing stuff!!) and a hog hair brush from Valet Pro DODO Juice Purple Haze Results Only had enough time to get one coat on but wow, seriously impressed with the results, nice soft wax, easy to apply and just as easy to remove.. (Give me time, previous owner seems to have just used car washes, Heathen, so im building her coat back up) Safe to day i ordered the Purple Haze PRO wax from Amazon! New black headlights (Post clean) Thats it for now, i have ordered the premium LED package from partsyoulike.co.uk and im still contemplating a HiD upgrade. Also need to decide on which panel filter to purchase but its looking like BMC. Im also trying to find Cooksport springs but i cant seem to find them anywhere, i take it they're gold dust, and as im pretty impatient i might just buy the H&R springs! Would have preferred the extra lowering that CS springs give you though.
Where did you get the black headlights from? That's the next thing I'm looking to do with mine. They make the front end look so much better
EBay buddy, think they still have one set still in stock. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-Meg...O-S-amp-N-S-/201125824910?txnId=1268632883010
They're cheap ! Think I paid more than that for 1 from Ads, good find that mate and they look so much better than the chrome type ones
Me and a friend decided to take the motors for a spin seen as the weather was nice.. he had just fitted a new manifold to his 2.8 E46 which sounded amazing. So went to Hartside then over to a few waterfalls, purely because the roads are some of the best i've ever driven, unfortunately every cyclist in the north of the UK was out, bit of a nightmare but nevermind. However, i did commit genocide to the fly population so tomorrows bank holiday can only mean one thing.... Cleaning time!!!!!
Picked up a sectioned boot bag at a garage for £4, thought it would be god to separate the Auto Finesse, Maguire's and Auto Glym. Also picked this up today, stuck it all in with a full tank of Jet premium unleaded
one of the best fuel injector cleaners I have every come across is called GB44K was offered as an extra with a quik fit service a few years back, now the stuff i like unicorn poo to get hold of. I normally shove one can of the stuff in with a full tank once a year and amount of carbon and crap it kicks out after few days is incredible. Woud defo recommend that stuff going forward, i think you can get it off ebay still. Its not cheap really £13ish and appears to be in a heinz baked bean can as wel lol but give it a shout one day
Awesome, thanks for the tip, I'll pick a couple of them up. Apparently RED LINE SI-1 is meant to be amazing to but I just picked that up out of quickness. How can you tell how much crap it kicked out mate?
These came in the post today I was really happy with the Purple Haze sample ordered in last week so i went and bought the Pro edition so ill post the results at the weekend Also i bought this for the wheel nuts, had great comments so for a 10er i thought why not! I was looking at the Blue Velvet wax by DODO too, as a base wax to the Purple Haze, a few detailers i've spoken to have said it brings up dark paint work like nothing they've ever seen.
Purple haze is awesome and works great on grey/ dark coloured cars, used this on my rx8 well recommended As for the BG44K the chrome trim for exhaust was clean as a whistle beforehand and after just a few trips was totally black, same on my old c2. The tailpipes were brand new, so very easy to tell on those. In fact on the c2 it set the lamba sensor off temporarily, it had cleared that much crap thorugh!
Reg documents finally came for my plate off the 182. Time to get standard plates off and private ones off.. Nothing like some good old sticky stuff remover and AF citrus power to do the job I used 3M velcro squares to attach the plates, amazing things and you can pick them up for a couple of pound on eBay
It was a couple of hundred originally, but i believe theres a couple of hundred more been added in the years ive had it.. i dont know though
Haven't posted anything to recently as I've been chocker with work which is kinda sucky but you gotta have the coin if you want to buy the toys I guess ha. Anyway, these arrived for me this morning which I'm going to be trying over the weekend.. I'll get some pictures up Sunday night with a write up of some of the new products.
Yeah they make the car look so much better, more aggressive! Definitely the best upgrade so far.. You wont regret it like, good buy mate.
