As title says, took carto the dealer as now and again it is not going into reverse and 1st gear after it has been parked up. The answer i got was we tried it and it is going into gear so no point in checking it, warranty runs out in september so called durham evans halshaw where i got the car from and expressed my anger at the fact this is obviously the start of a problem. I spoke with service manager and he noted all this and asked me to call back in a couple of weeks to let him know how it was and said as it was ford it had to go to they might have to put it to another company that specialises in renault's, so not happy as i dont want to be left with a nice bill if something goes on the car. Oh and p.s evans halshaw customer service is piss poor to say the least.
I communicate via email for records, get an independent inspection done with video evidence and send it Renault uk and speak to other Renault dealers, there is always trading standards maybe they could act after the above is actioned
Evans Halshaw are an absolute joke. I bought a car before the meg from them and i'll never go anywhere near them again in this life time... Couldn't wait to see the back of them. Don't let them fob you off. Don't let up and get the b*****s to fix it.
Even if the box does give up after the warranty now, at least you have notified them of a fault. If you log a fault with them and it goes wrong even after they say it's fine they need to rectify it. Regardless if you're out of warranty or not because you told them about it before the warranty ran out.
Cheers for the replys guys, i managed to get a decent guy at durham who has sorted out for the car to go into renault in edinburgh. They are going to try replacing the gearbox oil then if still have problem then they will take it in and investigate and have been told as this has been reported before warranty has ran out it will still be fixed. So watch this space..lol
Glad to hear your getting an answer, i just had mine replaced which had only done 20k miles but it feels pretty good now.
