225 Struts / Braces

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by AustrianRS, Jan 26, 2015.

  1. Hi all,

I would like to improve the handling (especially the turn-in) of my Meg225.
At the moment Im running on Micheline Piolt Super Sport and Cooksport Springs, so I thought maybe a Brace in front and rear could help my old girl.
I would love to instal a cage - but I've to face a lot of troubles here in Austria with this mod

So my question is, do you think there is a benefit with a brace in front / rear ?
Is there any other solution available as the K-Tec ones ?
    Front:

    Rear: (plug and play)

I think a 3 point strut would be much better, does anyone know if this is available for the Megane ?
Or something like the Ultrarace for the Clio

    What are your opinions ?

    thanks

  2. Rear people will say makes a difference but it rarely does. Not many people have a front one, Ive just fitted mine but its not on the road yet and need to do some cutting etc.

  4. Looks good.
Do you have also the rear one ?

Hope you can write a little report after the first roll-out

  5. I have a full cage. I had a rear bar before hand and I noticed no difference

  6. the front brace is typically used when there is lots of flex in the legs.

I dont think there is that much in the meg at all - hence probably not needed.

  7. Rear brace wouldn't do anything as the shocks tops mount to the floor not the top of the arches like most other cars
where my bits come down from the bar is where rear strut tops are

The two rear braces are the same, one just comes powder coated and the other one is plain steel

As Ric already said, bottom brace looks nice, did you notice anything ?
Have you got front top & bottom and the rear brace ?

havent got the rear one, dont really know if if feels better tbh. as it might be a placebo effect

like to know if you can use the rear seats with the rear brace

  13. You can use the rear seats with a rear strut bar. As long as you retain the back seat clips when you install the strut bar.

  14. Ps cheers Matt e
