My drivers window stopped working the other week, so searching and found regs to be a known problem, bought new regs off eBay, the mini cube ones. To no luck they did not work Now has my door card has been off for some length of time due to me not fixing the window problem. I've started to see water pouring in from the bottom off the window.. I've taken the outside seal off that runs along the door and at first thought there was a bit broke off but checking the other one and its exactly the same. Removed the mirror and the top part of that seal doesn't make contact with the window. Spraying the whole window and no matter where you spray it the water travels and drips down in the same place. I park facing downhill because of my drive, and water was collecting in the bottom, and would pour out when door was opened, since drilled a few more drain holes and it has stopped collecting in the bottom of the door, but still coming in Any ideas??
I stopped water getting in by using a black sealant on the ends of the window rubber. I found water was running to one end or the other, and getting in the doors. Not a pretty solution, but it works.
Will give this a try tomoro, do you mean the out plastic/rubber bit?? And did it not stick to the window?
Its designed to allow water to come into the door. Thats why it has drains at the bottom. You cant stop it fully.
The rubber that runs the whole length of the window,i could see daylight at the ends, so sealed both ends. Window works fine. I did this after new regs were fitted by Renault. I also cut the rubber at the bottom of the door, where the drain holes are, just in case.
