Na m8 it's still got oil in but thas been making a rattling noise when pulling up to a stop and when you pull off really slowly then put the clutch in half it sounds shocking. Took it to bolsover car care to get Mark black to have a look but they said he isn't there anymore but they seemed to really know there stuff. Wanted to take it to Mike at diamond but he's mega booked up
Mark is on here as a trader/mechanic but self employed I think. Is it not clutch/flywheel rather than gearbox then?
Sounds like flywheel to me. Exactly as you described happened to my diesel. Mine was like shaking bolts in a tin.
As above sounds clutch related to me. I visited Mick last week for him to check my 265 over. Gave it a clean bill of health. I mentioned the noises from the front end which appear when in stop start traffic and he pointed to the clutch and flywheel. They don't like crawling in traffic and keeping the revs slightly higher certainly helps. If I was in your shoes and I was looking to change something it would be the dual mass clutch and flywheel. Get it to Mark or Mick before you shell out big bucks.
Clacks and rattles on and off throttle? I've noticed the DMF more and more now I know what I'm listening for, they really do make horrible sounds under some circumstances.

I'd complain about it. They're not exactly cheap! Yea the box is fixed but now you've got scabby calipers. Not on IMO.
Just the noise which was getting loud and the kidder through the food well everytime I stopped... It was the bearings and something else which I can't remember. But everything feels more solid now the clutch feel is much more precise.it did make a loud ticking noise inside tonight before I released the handbrake then nothing which was random
My car has no 5th gear on a motorway / dual carriageway and Renault said I need a new gearbox but as it turns out there aren't any available and they're waiting for them from France (channel tunnel issues etc) but they have no idea how long. so far it's 32 days... They have offered to give me a free loan car until mines done but as i rarely go out of town i don't notice the problem that much.
