Hello everyone, I am looking at replacing my injectors and was wondering what everyones opinion on them is? My car coughs a little now and again on idle so they probably need doing and at 50k with no previous replacement I would say they probably need at least a clean. How easy are they do replace and what does every one do? Buy new or clean? I am hopefully not looking to spend too much on them if possible as I just did about 350 on disks and pads recently.
You can get away with a clean of injectors , but new ones are from £120 upwards. I had a set cleaned and it cured the cough
Funny enough Boardy put a cleaned set in mine on Wednesday and sad as it seems I was listening to my car running from cold by the exhaust pipes this morning as its as smooth as anything. Drivessmoother too and I swear down its no coincidence that since then my average mpg is 26.5 rather than 22 that I usually get!! I didnt know how to change them but it took Lee about 10 mins to get them off and less to put back on. I;d feel confident I could do it next time as it looks easy enough
I need new ones. Spoke to Fred at btm and he said cleaning normally works but you can spend £60 having them cleaned and then the problem can come back in 6 months so you may as well change them!
If it's not your daily and you can wait a few days fire them over to me and I will clean them for you. I have knocked up my own cleaning rig, I will clean them for 20 posted? I will do them for you before you pay and if your not happy with them don't worry about paying. If you happy then pay! The set that are in Simon's car are a set I cleaned myself.
Are yours the blue or brown injectors? If they are the brown I have got the set that came out of Simons car I can clean and send you.
thanks, It's my daily so I would have to plan it! If its 120 a set though I might buy some and then get the others cleaned as spare!
A lad put a very good guide on how to replace the injector. I did it myself and not mechanically minded so it's easy.
