Thanks to Boardy who grafted hard whilst I stood and watched I had the short shift mod done. Such an amazing difference it feels like a different car now and the gear change is so much better. I never expected it to make such a difference but I am made up I had it done now. Thanks to Boardy as well who I had never met before but went out of his way in his own time to do this for me. Top guy too

You're linkage is modified, (bolt positioning moved basically) which shortens the throw by half pretty much, makes it really positive and direct. Boardy will do this for around £60 IIRC. Probably the one mod I couldn't live without. I paid the 248 from Ktec before Boardy took this on again: exact same thing basically. I'm in St. Helens mate, Simon has got a phase 1 and linkage is easy to mod we did it on the drive! But the phase 2 requires some machining (and guessing from you pic you have a R26?) to the linkage to enable you to move the ball pin. I have got a bit of a back log on the Ph2's with them being really hard to get hold of, and the only other way is to mod yours and send it back if your cars is not your daily drive. I'm mad bust at work too at the mo so have not got a lot of time to knock them out for people. If people have got a phase 1 I will happily mod their linkage when I have some spare time if they want to call around. Will only take a hour or so.
yeh, i have a mk2. Not to worry ; pretty sure, i can buy a short shift kit to fit as opposed to modifying the current linkages
