  1. Just had my cheap intercooler delivered. Looks a little bigger than the stock one. 60mm deep. Looks ok. We a week or so before i get chance to fit it tho. 7f2efa5f60919078dfe9a6423a910130.jpg

  2. Is this a chinese eBay number? Or one from one of the French tuning companies?

  3. Chinese i think. Its actually from the Netherlands tho.

  4. How much was it?
It's the 13 row one, some are 17 row I think it was.

  5. the newer ones tend to be 13 row , the older ones 17.

all the items are chinese , but it looks like they send to Netherlands to avoid customs .

    Give me a second ..

  6. £152. Looks ok. Im not spending £450-£500 on a few hp. Ill do a charge air temp test between the 2 if i get chance

  7. For a forge intercooler (unbranded) contact 07884436360 - He works for forge but obviously doesn't stamp them on completion so sells them for £150, collection for Gloucester!

  8. Good to know now bud lol

  9. I got one of these but posted via eBay, nice bit of kit for the price! c4dd8130bf4d2d2c37d4738c4866da30.jpg a432075f410aee5903f99901525f593e.jpg

  10. Yeah. It probably is the same guy... They are certainly a great bit of kit. Shame I don't own a turbo car anymore. Else I'd certainly ask one to be made again.

  11. I can vouch for this one hainsey posted aswell i too had this one from the guy off ebay. had no problems with temps as far as i can tell and had it remapped aswell. gotta be forge like! heres hoping anyway and just unbranded

  12. Same dimensions as the Forge ones? Just unbranded for £150?

  13. do you feel any difference with the way the car drives with one of these better intercoolers?

  14. It felt more responsive , but it could have been a placebo tbh.

  15. I would think any of these alloy intercoolers will flow better and keep the charge air cooler. Cant see them making a difference in performance without it being a hot day or without a remap (so more boost). They all look good tho on the car!

How did you find that out?

Is it just intercoolers he can get out the back door?

  19. Yeah basically. I found it out when buying my seats from a guy locally.

It may take him a few weeks to do mind. Due to it being less suspicious.

  20. The forge IC for megane 2 is 90mm thick core, which is 50% more surface than 60mm ones.

  21. Bit of a comparison from my Chinese intercooler against the standard intercooler.

  22. Its about 3 inch taller and the core is 2 inch wider and 1 cm deeper. Very easy to fit. I just trimmed the black plastic air scoop trims to fit. Looks good and seems to sit lower so can be seen more through the bumper and all important more surface area for the air to hit

  23. The intake end tank is quite narrow compared to standard.

Gonna look what my ktec one is like now.

  24. Thats due to having a 2 inch wider core.

  25. Looks good, some of the Chinese one's I've seen were the same size as standard just thicker core, think they might have been the direnza ones maybe? Quite tempted with this one tho and a lot cheaper than forge

  26. Quite a bit bigger then.
Can you remember what the core dimensions were?

  27. 25 inch wide, 6 cms deep and i forget the height. Ill measure it tomorrow

    • Core Size: W244mm×H635mm×T60mm
    • Overall Size:W302mm×H795mm×T110mm

  28. Thats the one

  29. are these still for sale Jonty do you know?

  30. Yeah mate. Think it's the GPI one on ebay. £148 now. Bargain I think.

  31. thanks Jonty and Andy got that watched on ebay now to buy after xmas

  32. Is that one from ebay at £145 really any good, as apposed to an equivalent from say Forge , Pace or Airtec. Do they flow as well and keep temps down ?.

  33. have a good read of this thread mate I found it handy

seems to be that a forge or airtec will be better but then they should be at the price but these cheap ones are better than standard and will keep temps steady
