Hi Guys
Is there anything i need to do for this track day, having not done one before i don't know what is required.
I have a crash helmet that i will bring, do i need a fire extinguisher, first aid kit ??
Do i need to take any tools along.
I have changed the disc pads, brake fluid, changed the oil and filter, plugs etc
Is there anything you think i have missed

 

There is one thing i am a bit worried about.
My exhaust ??
While i was doing the bushes etc i noticed that i dont have any exhaust box's it's a straight pipe from the cat back, will it be too loud do you think, i dont think it is, what happens if it fails the noise test it's a long way back home !!!

Nip out and get a noise meter from Maplin and test the car. Have to measure the noise at 45% to the end of the exhaust at 75% maximum throttle. Limit is 105db at Oulton Park.

Had a cracking day, even the rain didn't spoil the track time, gave me loads of confidence in my car and tyres, cant wait to do another.

Just doing my vids, the chase vid me and Paul (r26 man) has come out well!

 

I got home just before 11pm, not to bad, held up on the M6 not too bad after that.
Paul stayed over another night.

 

Yeah I know he said his journey up took 7 hours so I'm not surprised.

I avoided the m6 and used the a500 to stoke so I missed the traffic but I know it's notorious for traffic

 

Firstly a BIG thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome.......in Glen's old car!! It was a really good day and great to meet like minded friendly people doing what we enjoy. Thanks also for the input and offers of advice (especially the radiator issue!) on technical and other points.

Oulton Park is a looong drive, 7 hours up and 8 hours back due to the hold-ups on the M6 and closure of the A34 sending everything through Newbury Arrrrgh!! However, it has now become my favorite UK track over Cadwell Park so it looks like Premier Inn will be getting more business off me.

Looking forward to seeing Dan's in car footage to get an idea of how the car looks on track...ping it over when you can Dan!!

Yeah I actually think I prefer oulton over cadwell now, although cadwell is awesome and very cheap!

Plus the premier in at oulton can be had for 35 quid and for me was a lot less stressful and I only have an hour and a half journey

 

The Meganes were going really well.

It was great being with like minded owners, as the driving standards were really good compared to busy track days.

Yeah definitely, the track day manners were being very well exercised with other drivers pulling over when possible allowing everyone to have a smooth day.

There was a lot of cars in the paddock but the track was never crowded which was nice.

 

Think so? I thought it looked empty haha.

I've been on days there when the whole paddock was full, like 80+ cars.

I thought there was a few they every garage seemed to have at least two cars in lol, although I've been on javelin days where there's been near on 50-60 at cadwell
