My dci 175 started, cut out, struggled to start then 200 yards down the road started billowing white smoke out the exhaust, anyone know what's wrong!!!!!
Yes it is, I have put it into a garage it's the head gasket, the garage I bought it from have been bodging it up every time I take it back, so they have caused the problem so they can fix it or it will go back and I will buy another one.
If they are known bodgers then I'd be wary of them 'fixing it', just insist that they have the head pressure tested (to check for cracks) before its refitted,may even need a re-skim if its warped.
You dont have to skim it. Depends on the flat edge check. I would walk away from that car. They could have done anything.
This won't happen very often but I agree with Andybond on this one. Walk away,sounds like a wrong en.
Thanks for all the help, the garage have had 3 chances to fix the heating fault and it had ended up killing the head it's with a local garage for diagnosis then the finance company are going to deal with it, I'm starting to look for another car, I want to stick with Renaultsport maybe a 225 this time, anyone know of a decent garage that has one for less than £6k.
Shame you wasnt buying with cash mate, Im going to be selling my 55plate 225 Lux 60K,miles FSH, Ive owned it 6yrs from 17k miles, had clutch/timing belt done last yr, just had all new drop links,suspension mount, having new driveshaft (just started slightly clicking on full lock) fitted on weds with its next due service/oil change, full heated leather,absolutely mint,not a mark on it £3800

If my car comes back and is fine I'm going to start the mods, question is it worth doing the air box mod? And take the dpf off and fit a sports cat? Are there any upgraded injectors that anyone can recommend?
