Well not today but yesterday had Mark Black fit me group buy powerflex bushes, I know I know I am so lazy but I was on way home from Sheffield and no way could I do them in 40mins lol, felt more like a friggin pit stop , thank you Mark huge cheers ))
Just added "renault sport " to my sun strip. I wanted to keep it stealth and functional. #form&function!!!
You were in Sheffield? I could've shown you some Yorkshire roads!
Yes mate i was treating my missus to a night or 2 at whitley hall , I will hold you to that next time Feirny , I will pm you and give you some notice next time amigo
Yeah he seems to get good results with vw stuff, my mate wasn't too pleased with his astra gsi though. Be interesting to see what results he gets though
You're mad! Yes mate i was treating my missus to a night or 2 at whitley hall , I will hold you to that next time Feirny , I will pm you and give you some notice next time amigo
Yes do it! There's some serious roads around here, just as good as Wales.
I've been fixing a Vauxhall sadly.... Missus told me Sunday she had hit a moose/deer type animal on the way back from her mums - Was told she'd had a look for damage and there was none. So obviously I'm fitting new headlights, lower grille, fog, and numberplate for no reason at all then...... Also ordered a new spoiler for it and a few other tidy up items. Feck knows why as it's worth about 56p this car but I need it to keep going until we've bought a house - don't want any big spends for a car or a lease agreement etc.... It refuses to die as it is!!
Got hideous SMF removed and replaced with DMF. Car now back to how it was meant to be so well chuffed. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering an SMF for the mk3 megane, thinks very carefully before proceeding.
Had a Scorpion Non Resonated system fitted to the 225 after the original OEM finally fell to pieces !
Ive ran a light SMF on my MK3 for well over a year now with the OEM clutch and find it fine. Its noisy as fuck but thats the only downside IMO.
Yes agree with the terrible noises which IMO really aren't noises a road car should make. My car also suffered with terrible vibrations which shook a slave cylinder bolt loose resulting in wrecked SMF & clutch.
Yea but I bought mine from stock from a different company. Paid extra but needed asap. Figment is ok just some weird bolt sizes needed
Really? Fuck sake, I'll check mine tomorrow. If it doesn't take an 8 I'll just drill it out and nut and bolt it. Or rethread it bigger. Is it fine thread or what?
Mine takes M8 and I've wrapped the entire decat. Nuts were a little tighter to get the spanner on but you'd expect that. Wonder if yours is a newer version MJ57?
Maybe they changed something. The bolts went in pretty easy it was only tight trying to get a ring spanner on it so ended up catching it a bit with an open spanner but it's still good. Here's mine.
Got mine back from Engine Dynamics today. Have to say the guys there, especially Andy and Andy Jr are legends. Worth the 3hr drive. Going back in a few weeks after running her in to get it all mapped up by Henk. Needs a good clean and polish tomorrow inside and out. Then I can start my blog thread and post a few pics...finally!! I also found the helix clutch nowhere near as harsh as I had been told it may be. Tis very heavy but by the time I got back I was used to it and quite like how it feels. Long day ahead tomorrow
Car was in at Ecotune Hillington this morning for its remap and the guys there were great. Got there for it opening at 9.30, was offered tea, coffee, water or Irn Bru then they got done to business. Done three power runs before the mapping highest was 181 hp and 231.8 ft lbs, I have the GT Megane 180 Tce which is suppose to make 177 hp standard just incase you guys thought it was a proper RS. Then waited for the coolant to cool correctly and the guys to play with the map, they done three more runs and the end result was 209.6 hp and 283.1 ft lbs. Pleased with results they had said the smaller low pressure turbo held it back a bit but I wasn't expecting miracles. Oh nice waiting area where you can view everything going on too. Went for a drive round Lanark way near me and the cars far better with my engine there was some turbo lag but that has gone now and it pulls well through the rev range.
Just back from Ecotune myself. Had a bit of a surprise on the first run, it was only running 216bhp. They found a vacuum hose on the diverter valve was leaking so the only pressure the diverter valve was getting was from the spring. They secured the hose on and went again. Highest figure was 306.8bhp/344.2ft lbs. After a bit of tweaking he settled on 305.1bhp/342.6 ft lbs. They also added launch control too, apparently I'm only the second Megane customer to get it. Only had a shirt drive home but it's a completely different car now.
