Aircon not working

  1. Never use aircon but tried it today and only blows warm air, before I regas is there anything else to look for. If I remember there is a pressure switch but cant locate to see if its bad connection etc.
Do I need to have anything reset when regassed as they have an offer at Ats for less than £30.

  2. If there is pressure in the system, its probably a pressure switch fault. Otherwise you could have a leak.

  3. Had mine done the other day. Once gased it worked fine.
they did try to sell me a new pollen filter for £35. But got one else where for £15

  4. Unless ATS can clear down the 'cold loop' code then no amount of regassing will make the aircon turn back on. Do ATS offer a 'no charge' guarantee if they regass (it holds pressure) but won't lower the temp?
If they do, get it gassed for free and then pop down to your local stealers and get them to clear the code down (or offer beer money to a local with CLIP).
I just payed £59 from the stealers for a regass and all was okay.

  5. good info. I was going to aks this question cos my car is roasting!!

  6. When I changed my leaking aircon rad recently I had it regassed and it worked straight away.

Got it off Groupon for £16.

  7. how did you know rad was mullered

  8. The bottom connection had corroded on both my meganes.
It's easy enough to see it.

  9. gonna remove front bumper tomorrow and do a few checks, a few questions first-
is the pressure switch able to be linked to be tested,
shouldn't the revs alter when I turn it on
and is there anything else I can check

  10. Here's the corrosion.

  12. With a decent diagnostic tester (snap on etc) you can see what the pressure switch is reading. The revs should increase slightly when air cons switched on. But you need to know if you have any pressure in the system firstly. (Also when the pressure switch packs up, its usually when you have the system charged, the pressure switch reads no pressure). Ive never had to erase DTC's for the aircon to work either.

I have an unbelievably slow leak somewhere, I'm talking 9-12 months slow but being like I am I HAVE to find it!

I find now that when you start to hear the compressor come on a little louder it's time to fill her up!
