Clarkson's suspension

Discussion in 'General Automotive & Motorsport Media' started by Pagey3103, Mar 10, 2015.

  1. They have more than enough financial clout and notoriety between the three that they could set up on their own if they so wished, and broadcasting companies would be throwing money at them to secure the deal.

  2. James May is just brilliant.

I can seriously see the trio going it again elsewhere. As mentioned, with another broadcaster. The public demand is there. I'd say worldwide too.

BBC may well re- shape top gear with new presenters but it's the existing presenters and their 'baffoonery' that make me watch it each week and every day on Dave for that matter.

  3. The king is dead. Long live the king!

Who's the new king? Chris Evans - with an entirely new team/format.

The 'Lads' will trot off to obscurity/channel 5/netflix but either way, it's over for them in terms of mainstream telly.

If anybodies upset by all this, remember, it's Clarkson's fault - nobody else's. His stupidity has made it so you can't watch Top Gear on a Sunday night now.

Can't watch Top Gear on a Sunday night on BBC now*

it will return and potentially bigger than ever after all of this.

  5. Top gear without those three will be awful. Just look at the American version :-/

  6. Yeah - they'll be back, I'm sure even Netflix would want a piece of the action.

The lot of them probably have never been more visible, just like writing off a 250 and getting a 275, this will turn out pretty well I reckon

  7. Oh I'm sure it will mate, of that I have no doubt. JC and the team were hardly cutting edge in where this format could go, but I think Evans will have some great ideas.

I'll just leave this here - (a relative)

  8. Top Gear will still be aired with new presenters, I'm sure. However I'm also sure that the three of them will be snapped up and a Top Gear-esque show will be aired somewhere like Sky 1 which will reel in the punters.

Anyone who thinks these three will fade away is very much mistaken. Clarkson is and always will be TG. He turned a horrendously mundane show into a world wide phenomenon.

  9. <cough> Hello. <cough>

  10. Will be total dog poo without them 3 especially jesus christ

  11. You calling Clarkson Jesus Christ?

Blimey, even John Lennon didn't do that :tongueout:

  12. Clarkson got crucified as well
    All for hitting a fairy
i mean he had to drive his self to hospital after suffering a split lip

Its just the banter them 3 had the acting was spot on (all staged) but we as a family enjoyed it
chris evans is ok but i dont think he is funny like jc and jodie kidd is just irritating even to look at ,so i hope she isnt involved

james may was awesome and his other programmes are great to watch too

  13. I'd stopped watching Top Gear about a year ago, for me it had become tired and boring. It used to be hilarious.

I cannot abide Richard Hammond who comes across as a complete and utter cock, May is funny and JC is great but it may turn out to be a good thing all of this. They may set up with something new and fresh which would be great and Chris Evans who I like may freshen up Top Gear and make it good again

  14. Although i know top gear has been completely staged etc for a few years now i still watched it religiously as it was a good laugh and i liked clarksons no nonsense approach to broadcasting  Shame its ended but i will tune into the new series with chris evans just to see what he brings to the table. I cant imagine him doing exotic roadtrips like those 3 did though!

  15. I can't stand the twat either, he irritates the f@€k out of me.

  16. See, I don't get that. Out of the three of them, he is the most 'car'.

I don't mind him at all (except on Total Wipeout). Anybody remember the car quiz show they did for a while on ch4? He was a team captain I think with Dave Spikey, but that really showed his car knowledge.

  17. You dont need to get it. It's my opinion not yours.
Out of the three of them he's the most 'cunt'.

  18. don't watch it then, i will watch the new top gear, and can't wait for the three amigos to get back on the TV, they bounce off each other really well, oh, IMO.

  19. I like the other two so I'f it's ok with you I will watch them when they return.

  20. Knock yourself out.

  21. what a needlessly bitter exchange! (imo )

  22. cover one eye, you may not see hamster then. It is ok with me.

  23. Good idea. I'll try it when they're back on.
