Had a great time at the track today, went with my dad who is over for a week so we took turns driving. The track was good fun to drive. The r26 handled well around the corners did feel it lacked some power on the straights, running eagle f1 that came with the car and was not overly impressed with them tbh but it was very hot. The car did suffer especially the clutch (which might be on its way out) the few sessions we did that went for more than 15 mins the clutch pedal would just go loose and stay down which I gather was from overheating massively. Not sure if this is a sign that it's about to die but could be. The brakes (just got ds 1.11) did well and had no fade at all, drove me mad on the way home as now they squeal which I need to fix (any ideas please let me know). Felt the car held up well compared to other cars there most where civics, integras, mx5's, few m3's, imprezas etc, but generally all had roll cages and nothing but a drivers seat in so a good few very track orientated cars that I gather have been quite modified, big exhausts, drilled front bumpers and lights removed to let air in etc. generally people moved out of the way if you caught them and vice verse when we got caught which worked well rather than people fighting for positions. Managed a few 1.54's which could have been improved I think if I was just driving all the time rather than swapping every time but we both had a great time. there was 1 other r26 but no other meganes there, looked like he had done a far bit to it with the way it sounded. a ktm crossbow turned up and did some quick laps and was flying around the track All in all will do it again and would recommend anyone who has not done one before but it must have aged the car a fair bit
I was there at 3.30 today and there was a blue 225 there, we did the evening track time, never saw an R26 there though
Must have missed you by a bit I left around then as had to get back for a family dinner, would have been good to talk as you seem to know these cars very well, could not tell if the megane was a r26 or 225 had all the f1 stickers which I thought only the r26 had
