17" wheel options for 265?

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Rausner, Jun 23, 2015.

  1. Feels like I'm spamming the forum now but can't seem to find which few 17" wheels fit the rs 265 due to its mahoosive brakes..

Big price difference when it comes to tyres and I know I've read somewhere that certain 17" wheels fit!

    Any experts around?

    Cheers,
    Erik

  2. surely it would look appauling.

  3. Have you tried Clio 197/200 wheels? They have to fit over the Brembos on the front as well although there is minimal clearance!

  4. wont fit different PCD

  5. MJ57 I'm not thinking looks, it's purely for track use! 18s on the road, 17s with semi slicks on track!

  6. Weren't they OZ wheels they fitted? I thought someone had put a pic up of one on ultralagerras.

  7. Seen these beauts, but they look like 18s

  8. Yeah they're 18's. You can get Ultra's in 17 though.

If they're for track and you don't mind spending a bit take a look at some Enkei RPF1's. They're very light but do come at a price

  9. Rpf1s are cheaper than Ozs. Atleast for jap cars. Didn't know they were available for the megane. Who sells them in the right spec?

  10. O didnt now 250/265 are 5/114.3
    Got a 225

  11. The bottom photo is 17' OZ allegerita lovely wheel, you need deep pockets though as they're around 3k. The highest offset in 17' is et55 iirc.

  12. But what width is required on a set of 17" Alleggerita then?

I can get 18x8.5 for about £1000 but figure 17" should be cheaper and looks really nice on the one in the pic!

  13. If you can get 8.5 I'd go with that. Where are you getting 18' alleggerita for £1000?? Can't be genuine at that price.
I'd buy a set tomorrow if that was the case.

  14. That's the price I got from my friend who owns a rim/tyre company! Guess I got a good price then..

  15. I'd bite his hand off at that price!

  16. Haha yeah. He's gonna check 17s as well. Do you know how wide and what ET is required on the Alleggeritas?

  17. Just get me a set while you're at it haha cheers thanks.

Not 100% but I reckon you'll need 8.5 et55 or as close to that as you can get. Doubt anything less than et55 will clean the brakes.

  18. Hmm, alright. He'll check. I'll get back to you tomorrow with a price haha

  19. If he has any stock of that size/offset you could try one up to see. Doesn't need to be the correct stud pattern you could just slip it over the hub without bolting it on.

  20. Unfortunately they're order only. 1 week delivery time! Doubt he can order and return :/

  21. No I mean in any wheel. Doesn't matter what they are if you're just trying the size before you order.

  22. Ah I see, but there could be pretty big differences between wheel designs.. Atleast that matters when it's such a snug fit against the brakes!

Suppose I'll just wait and order the 18x8.5s for next spring instead!

  23. I'm buying 17s for track! I'm buying evo 8 enkei wheels, 17x8 et38, might be a squeeze but I know 17x9 et45 fits perfectly.

  24. Good to know that fits! Might be even cheaper tyres then!

  25. I'll report back soon bro, only thing with evo wheels you need to run wheels nuts to suite but considering they are light and strong and made by enkei and can be hard for like £200 they are a bargain

  26. The allegerritas aren't 3k but 1k even in 17s is a good price.

I sold a set with some worn r888s for only a little less a couple years ago.

Lovely wheels though, a real quality product and are super light.

  27. If I'm honest the slight kg difference you'll notice across different weight 17s will be over shadowed by decent rubber. Like I say I've got my evo wheels cheap and there are loads out there at like £200 amd are made by either enkei or oz so are strong and light

  28. guess you mean "more than 55" - less offset will move the rim further away from the hub, which should leave more room for the caliper..

  29. Yes I mean more

  30. Hi,

New guy here, got 19 inch steevs and looking to improve the ride quality with some 17s.

Does anyone have any pictures you could share of yours on 17s? As I fear it may look out of place in those arches.

    Cheers

  31. Did you go for the OZ in the end? If not have a look at the ATS Motorsport GTRs
