  1. Hi

Does anyone have a manual showing how to remove gearbox on an R26.

Also anyone have any ideas my car has lost 6th and going into reverse instead.

    Many thanks

  2. if you decide to replace it i'll be interested in the old one mate

  3. I may also be interested in the old one too if you replace it.

  4. tbh was just looking to see about repairing it, anyone know how to remove it?

  5. Its nothing odd or wierd its just a gearbox. I wouldnt recommend trying to fix a gearbox if you struggle removing it.

  6. im not repairing it my dad is a mechanic and will be he just wanted to see which bolts he did and didnt have to remove

  7. If he is a true mechanic he'd surely see which bolts to remove

guess it's a subframe down job but never changed one myself on a megane so can't be sure

  8. clearly just trying to make easier

  9. Yeah ofcourse, sorry but can't really help.

sure there are plenty of other on here though!

  10. I always drop the rear sub frame. Gives a lot of room then.

And be careful of the starter motor cable when refitting. The rest is straight forward.

  11. Lol @ the box enquiries...

With regards to removal of the box, it's a big job, but not overly complicated.

Front bumper off, front crossmember (for more room) and then drop the subframe with the rack etc all still connected (for ease).

Can then whip the shafts out and remove the box.

Everything out of the way, mine looked like this:

(Poor picture, but you get the idea).

  12. thanks for response we think may be the gear selector so gonna start with that first
