  1. What have RS done to increase the respective power of these cars other than ( i presume) boost ? Just interested.

Assuming the same as any map..... fuel, boost, ignition timing.

  3. wondered if any hardware was different

No only the rs monitor changes on later cars

Other than the Akra/Ohlins and some tiny differences in the airbox all MK3 RS' are identical underneath.

Some say the 265 stock exhaust is different to what the 250 had but I'm yet to see any actual proof and the extra power will just come from a different calibration.

  6. Yeah i think its just the map. What do people think is different with the exhaust i could have a look!

Its supposedly meant to flow better and sound better, Im yet to hear/see this for myself though

  8. If I've read correctly most 250's put out 265'ish standard anyway.

    Wouldn't mind getting mine done.

  9. Ah right, cos it looks like a std 250 system from what i can tell. It does sound a lot different between 250 and 265 modes but thats mainly fuelling/boost and of course pops and bangs!

  10. Do it

  11. there's a difference in the ecu in that the 265 has independent maps for normal and sport mode, the 250 doesn't. If this is purely a software difference, I don't know..

  12. Pretty sure there is no or little hardware difference given Paul at RS tuning offers seperate mapping on the button for 250's

  13. you mean Paul is able to program a 250 to have independent maps for normal/sport as well?

  14. Yeh, he offered it as an option to me. Could have kept standard map in normal mode and the new map just on the sport button.
