It's a non cup btw so it doesn't have a LSD just so you know, not really seen many change the stereo tbh, it's not bad on its own but the other option is to wind the window down and engage 'sport' mode and listen to the angry vacuum cleaner noise the car makes along with the occasional pop and bang >.<

p.s they are super rare in the UK in that colour, only seen a few and never in person.

 

That's well nice, bin the stereo and get a performance exhaust

Been looking at that one on line all this week. The colour is bang on, but not being a cup or recaro's. Depends on what your after. I'm sure it'll deliver the fun for you mate.

 

Had one with the exact same spec behind me this week. The front end in blue in the rear view mirror was something else. Gorgeous colour in the flesh.

Nice colour. The 250 always seem to make more like 270 on a rolling road.

 

Id suggest changing the front discs and pads looking at the pic's !

I always tell people of the stereo, that if they went to Asda with £3, then they would probably buy a better sounding stereo in there.

 

I was genuinely embarrassed when I had mates in the car and music was on lol

 

I know how you feel. I dont bother with it because its that crap. Not long after i had the car i stopped in the local dealers to question the fact that i thought that it sounded shite, perhaps broke. They informed me in a round about way that is the way they are. i.e crap.

 

That looks superb in that colour!! Stereo is fine I think. It works and sounds good enough as long as you don't have it blasting like some Kn*b!

 

I bought my 250 ff cup from that dealer, most of the cars they have are ex lease and they work on the basis of high volume small profit so don't expect a big discount! They seem decent enough guys and make money on finance and flogging warranties etc so be prepared to put up with the speil when you hand over your hard earned.

that car showed up after I bought mine listed as a 265 probably in error hence it still says 265.

Whether it's overpriced is a matter of opinion, it's a rare colour in low mileage so it's worth whatever someone wants to pay. Bear in mind a non cup car is generally less desirable at resale time though.

If you do buy it you've got a better chance of them throwing in any servicing or repairs than money off as they have full workshop facilities

Mines been faultless so I have nothing bad to say about carbase but neither am I endorsing them!

as for the stereo I've fitted a pioneer active sub in the wheel well and it's made a massive difference, fit some better front speakers as well and it should be decent

 

Oh and they will try and flog the warranty on the basis that the DMF fails regularly and costs £3k a go to repair, both of which are not fact!

 

Welcome to the forum. Cracking colour, there's one that colour up here looks lovely. For me though the cup chassis and recaros make this car what it is.

It's definitely a 250 just a very late one, the DRL on the front of a 265 are different. Plus the late 250 came with the 265 spoiler, which yours has also.

i haven't changed the speakers yet but it's on my to do list, should be fairly simple but yes the standard speakers are riveted

When you look at the car see if it has tweeter in the back , if so it's got the 3d stereo (mine hasn't)

I'm averaging about 30 mpg with a mix of town and motorway driving - depending on how much I hoon around

 

Mine doesn't have a spare but the sub is designed to fit inside a spare anyway

I know you said you didn't want cup chassis but this one below is on auto trader and just looks like a better spec for less wonga

This one will be more desirable, has the recaros too which are rare/hard to get. If I had to pick it would be this one 100%

 

Defo not sat nav but it might have the RS monitor

Recaros don't height adjust and aren't heated but they are really supportive and surprisingly comfy, it's a matter of taste really but I've never heard a bad word against them

keyless is standard I think? Auto dim mirror and xenon lights was an option though

you will however struggle to find the perfect spec, I had to compromise on having standard headlights on mine due to limited secondhand options

 

Just to clear this up the recaros in the 250/265 are hight adjustable and keyless isn't standard.

Good luck with the viewing. There isn't really much to look out for. And I'd imagine the car would of been checked over prior to sale.

 

Yep I was wrong- my recaros are height adjustable - I've just never adjusted them! Soz.

As much as I'm happy with my car I'm totally confused with why the PO didn't tick the drl and xenon option as it has everything else bar the glass roof ticked. They must have really wanted the recaros!

I take it you are looking at the Carbase car? take it for a blast by the helicopter museum as the main roads in WSM are too busy to get a proper feel for it
