Hi, been browsing for a month or two trying to decide what to go for but found it difficult looking for the right spec 2nd hand. So I decided to look at brand new deals through carwow and a few other websites. What do people think of this deal: Brand new, RS265 s/s, white, cup pack, full leather and rs monitor for £18,850? It seems to good to be true. What's the delivery time on these when ordered new? Thanks, Bruce.
This price wasn't through carwow. Got it through Military Motor Source in Lincoln. I'm not military, just a civil servant. Spoke to them today, the car is supplied through Renault dealerships. I can collect from my closest dealers that they use or have it delivered. He wasn't sure on the lead time though, that's why I asked the question on here. If it's going to be 12 weeks then I might ask to wait until September for the new plate. One other question, if I don't go for electric folding mirrors can they be folded manually easily?
Right, looks like I'll be ordering this next week for delivery in September. Had confirmed the spec as follows: RS265 s/s NAV in glacier white Cup pack Free carbon leather pack Free RS monitor £18,851 plus £185 administration fee. Can't make my mind up on other options. Is it worth paying for electric folding mirrors, spare wheel or panoramic roof? Does anyone know if mats are included? To many choices!
If you need to fold the mirrors regularly, then get them - only £150 I think. Spare wheel, don't bother IMHO. Same with the roof. Dealer should throw a set of mats in if you ask nicely but I think they are officially part of a 'delivery pack' which you can buy from the dealer if they don't. At that price I'd be snatching there hand off mate. Don't bother with September, just get it.
Reason it's September is that there are none to that spec available in the UK right now. Factory order the dealer told me. He did have one available now in the uk, unregistered, in Arctic white with leather recaro's, cup pack, rs monitor, spare wheel, but for £20,300. September suits me fine, more time to save towards the deposit and the recaro's (as much as I'd like them) would be more of a pain getting the kids in and out of the back.
Am I right in thinking the recaro's don't slide forward when tilted? Does the base have to be moved forward independently?
Cheers. Tempted to add them now. Only thing is, the leather pack is included free (normally £1250 I think). To add the recaro's I'll have to pay another £1300. Seems a bit pointless when the leather pack is free anyway.
Ordered today. Went for the one currently in stock so collecting it in June. 265 NAV, Arctic White, cup pack, carbon grey recaro's, spare wheel. £19995 including first years tax. Only bummer is, I've just phoned LV Insurance and they want a tracker fitted to cover it for theft. Might have to cancel the policy and start a new one elsewhere. Roll on June, can't wait to pick it up!
What a day! Picked it up this morning from Brighton. Left Nottingham at 4am (couldn't sleep). Got to Brighton for 7am. They didn't open until 9 so had to wait around for 2 hours. Was pretty nervous about seeing the car for the first time having ordered it via a broker and it coming from a dealership in Wales. Only took half an hour to sort all the paperwork and I was back on the road for 9:30. It took a lot longer going back due to traffic. On the M1 coming back the car nearly became the shortest lived RS in history. Cruising at 70 in the outside lane, the car in front creamed into another one. Cars were swerving into the central reservation and the middle lane trying unsuccessfully to avoid a pile up. There must have been about 12 cars in total that crashed, all because two cars had stopped in the outside lane further on do to a small bump. Luckily no one was inside of me and I swerved across to the inside lane and avoided it all. I must have literally missed the car in front by a few feet. Had to pull in at the services just to gather myself. Got back home safe and sound about 1pm. Gave it a quick wash as it was plastered in dead flies. Giving it a full detail next weekend inside and out.
No! Had 225 9 years ago and a 350z after that. Nothing but family cars for the past few years. The more I think about the accident yesterday the more I realise how lucky I was. The M1 was really busy but luckily for me at that split second when it happened nobody was inside of me. The crash was across the outer 2 lanes and I swerved all the way across into the inside lane. Wish I'd taken my dash cam down with me to collect the car now.
