250 relocating battery to boot

  1. Nope Paul checked said its not airtec one

  2. Mine says ambient 21 and intake temp 18! Fuck me that's a bit different

  3. How do you get lower inlet than ambient temps?

  5. Just going by the graph lol just trying to find out if my Temps recorded today are high or not?

  6. Just looked at my graph from rstuning and it says ambient 15 inlet 15.
Which would be amazing if it was right.

  7. If you have an aftermarket cooler that sounds right

on my r26 (with 60mm forge) the highest my intake ever went was about 6deg above ambient on track from memory. When i had the std cooler it spiked like 30deg within a single run of WOT.

When i had the r26 mapped with some others mine sustained intake temps and bhp within 1-2bhp run after run, the r26 with std coolers lost power run after run after about 2 initial runs due to the heat soak

  8. 60mm ktec intercooler.

  9. Think the issues are hot weather and town driving, that's when Temps start to rise.

  10. Start stop will see temps go up quite fast in this weather.

  11. Also, when being mapped, your car is sat with bonnet open with a F**k off big fan blowing cool air into rad/intercooler & across top of engine bay. Not the same as you with bonnet shut & a hot day. ( Hopefully someone could correct me with regards to the figures in the printout).

  12. Never understand why anyone runs a car on a dyno with the bonnet up?
Isn't it supposed to be trying to replicate road conditions.

  13. IIRC K-Tec intercoolers are made by Airtec.

Common mod on the MK2 clio's (battery in the boot). They all rate it, good luck with yours. Wouldn't mind doing the same to mine in the near future

On a standard road car there is very little benefit is relocating the battery IMO.

Different if its an out and out track or race car where weight distribution counts tbh.

  15. Depends why you are moving it.
I moved mine so it's in a nicer cooler place and to give me room to move my air filter to the front of the engine bay, refit my catch can in the engine bay next to the brake fluid reservoir instead of behind the wheel arch liner to give more room for a bigger air duct.

More than very little benefit for me.

  16. 15mile drive at 50-60 with ambient Temps at 21 degrees the rs monitor was reading 27-32 so sounds abiut right I'd say? Cone filter that bad? May make a shield and have a mess around and see what's what I just love the noise but if it was affecting performance that much I'd take it off

  17. I'm just installing a probe to measure under bonnet temps on my 225.
Might be a bit lower than normal as my decat is wrapped and turbo has a blanket on so keep temps in. Also I've just fitted a big cone duct to my front grill which will send quite a lot of air through so can measure with it and without it.
I'm also going to see temps and pressure pre intercooler to see what the turbo is actually doing.

  18. I'm pretty sure Paul wouldn't advise it if it was bad for you mate. He won't be making that much money on them that he pushes them on people so if he says it's good he's probably right!

  19. I trust what pauls saying don't worry about that just people on here never seem to run them, tbh the stock system is sufficient enough just not loud enough for my liking lol

  20. The problem is that under bonnet temps are hot,I would guess at least 80 degrees. If outside temp is say 15 degrees the under bonnet air will be around 18% less dense with oxygen(if my maths is right) which is only about 21% of the air anyway.

I run the Injen CAI and have done for the past 2 years on mine, It sits down in the arch though so little chance of it heat soaking.

FWIW i tend to see temps of 10/15 degrees above ambient on the stock cooler when driving it quickly on boost, Sits about 5 or so above ambient when cruising. Temps shoot up in slow moving traffic around town mind you but thats to be expected

  22. My standard air box also was sufficient by my itg setup sounds the nuts haha. Sounds like it's trying to suck in children from the pavement

  23. Thanks for that buddy, might be worth me getting a pipe made up so the filter is down lower

  24. My gf been taking the piss saying it sounds broken but came out with a gooden earlier after talking about going to watch jurassic world she said I've decided it sounds like a raptor on the prowl..good girl

  25. Hahaha I like that one. They do sound good though. Very addictive!
