Hope you don't mind me jumping in Chris, I'd go for the C11 Makaira, with a bracelet. Then get someone like www.steveostraps.com to make you a stylish leather strap to your tastes. I find I put the bracelet on my C60 for more dressy stuff. I have one of Steveos for daily duties. Takes me about 5 mins to swap them with a £5 pin tool. Andy
Guys for those who are interested in watches.... http://www.patek.com/contents/default/en/watchArtGrandExhibition2015.html Patek Philippe exhibition in London in 2015.
What's the pebble like? Think I might go for a techne goshawk as my next daily... Japanese auto mechanism and looks quite handsome too...
So I ditched the idea of a Christopher ward untill the new 2015 range is available. Went shopping to get a present for Someone and came home with this.
Yeah I love it Steve. I wasn't planning on buying it when I woke up this morning I was just filling time while having a millies cookie made for Someone. They must of been having a slow day I got a cracking deal. Its the planet ocean sea master professional. Bit of a mouthfull. I did want a breitling but after a bit of research it turns out the movements aren't in house just modified eta from swatch.
Lovely! I have a Seamaster at the moment but am going to try and upgrade to a Planet Ocean this year, can't beat a nice Omega!
Cheers guys. Well I spent an hour or so this evening polishing up my 18th birthday present off my parents. Not a fancy watch but it has come up well. Just needs a battery now. Buffed up the case and sides of the links. Polished the glass. Awaiting some materials from eBay to brush up the face of the bracelet. P.s. It was a right mess, so much so I wouldn't of ever worn it again.
As I polished mine up tonight my brother asked me to do his aswell, not bad results on old bashed about watches. Before: After:
Finally treated myself last year to a Tag, been wanting one since I was a teenager so well pleased with it....... Day to day though, I wear one of these Citizen Ecodrives. Solar powered and even left in a drawer for a week doesn't seem to ever stop!! Also picked up a Casio Edifice watch which was I think was end of line so discounted. Impressive bits of kit for the money I must admit -
Rolly is next for me. Nearly purchased a "hulk" the other week but wasn't convinced it would suit me.
A gentleman ONLY USES a pocket watch, 90yr old from my grandfather, you need to wind it up with a key, proper old school!!
omega aqua terra 8500 here, love it nice and subtle and a good all rounder, had a few breitlings in the past the Navi 01 LE was the nicest but had to go with a house move would love a JLC next but cant see any funds in the near future (kids are expensive!!) dont like rolex tho!!! almost got a sea dweller before my navi but the bracelet and watch just felt to cheap could not believe how underwhelmed it made me feel when i was excited to go see it. each to their own tho tz uk is a great forum for watch lovers - well apart from all the pointless bickering that is
My daily, My motorsport/events watch And my evening/dinner watch, not as expensive as the others but it's special to me... Got a 70s RW and a Gucci evening watch in the safe but they're not getting worn, they're quite feminine as were most watched back then. Would love a TAG Connected next... Or a Hublot, can't decide.
Cheers Steve, I can't afford to go crazy with some of the mega money ones. But a watch I to me has to be personal so I think I've struck the right balance.
ive got that watch, decent as a cheap casual watch if you don't wana lose/damage a nice one on a night out or something. got mine for like $60 with about £10 import charge on delivery - if you buy one there are loads of 15% discount codes about
Ordered my first smart watch earlier today. Its a Garmin Fenix 3 Sapphire, a pretty special GPS watch that does so much.
My father is a huge watch collector and it's rubbed off a bit onto me have to many to list but today I'm wearing a Tudor Heritage Chronograph which I picked up a few years back I think from Cyprus if memory serves me right. I've never used the Nato strap though. Photo to show watch as it's the same. Most came with the grey face and black chrono sections but I got the reverse version shown below.
