Took off the engine cover to give it a quick clean and noticed a leak in the engine bay....... Can anyone help out? Cheers, Papps
Will be leaking from the 10mm bolt behind the coil on the far left. Common problem. Take it out, seal it and refit. Job done. Failing that it'll be the breather plate gasket but they normally leak to the rear of the engine.
Thanks for the response guys - much appreciated. Boardy - Oil's not been topped up since December..... I'll have a go at that bolt you mention tomorrow Mike. Its got to be very minor as there's never been anything on my drive
Ditto! Does anyone have a torque setting for it for re-fitting? Im just going to clean it up and put a bit of VW Dirko sealent under the head. Great stuff that!
Just seal it with some high temperature sealant. They only need to be nipped up as it's screwed into alloy. Quarter turn when tight will suffice.
i did this with mine, had the same issue, high temp silicone, and as Mike says 'just nip it up' works a treat.
