Used it for the first time in 3 weeks, 4 miles around the village . No soddin time. Bloody amazing weapon tho' love it.
Removed my front callipers and set them away to be refurbed. As one half of a calliper as seized. looking like the best part of two weeks without a car
Fitted the gloss black mirror caps, washed it and put a coat of Definitive Show Edition wax on top of the C2v3. First time I've bothered with wax for a couple of years but got a tester pot from my brother in law so gave it a bash. Just need to sort a gloss black .R spoiler now to finish it off.
MJ Atleast u took dash bar off to remove I didn't and matrix was in several incomplete pieces by the end haha
I've JUST finished the worst pig of a job I've had to do on any car! Something as simple as changing the exhaust mounts has caused me so much bloody grief. The back bumper has obviously never been off before and the exhaust mounts were the originals (They managed a decade bless em) so of course EVERY single bolt or screw either snapped or spun.. I've ended up drilling out about 8 bolts today, the 4 on the back box itself were the worst! And to top it off job done, everything back together, just about to put the wheel back on and spy a bloody screw sticking out of it, so spare on and off to get that sorted tomorrow!
This is why I've given up on things like this. Had the back two replaced on the R26 at Whalley Motors and the guy charged me a tenner
Yea mine had just gone back on when I removed it too so I just ripped matrix to small pieces rather than take all apart
Fitted my new forge hoses and let me tell you what a total PITA the intake hose was. Getting it fitted to the turbo was a nightmare even with the battery and airbox out, there's hardly any room to get in there and position and tighten the hose clip, never again lol. And to make matters worse, when I was already stressed out, I dropped a socket into the engine bay and couldn't find it  But lady luck was on my side in end. As I backed out of the garage, the socket dropped out of the bottom of the engine bay and there it was, on drive, so relieved lol.
Fitted my RS Tuning 3" decat and heat wrapped my exhaust ready for the remap at RS Tuning in July. POWER!!
With a lot of swearing ghosty. Trimmed out everything I didn't need for the new decat and slackened all the engine mounts to slide it forward to get to the third top decat bolt. Nightmare. Car runs loads sweeter and lots more torque mid rev range. Love it. Not loving the cuts and bruises on my hands though!
Went on a spirited drive with my mate who wanted to follow in his brand new GTD. Came home Washed it, cleaned interior and engine bay.
New front tyres fitted. I'd forgotten how much difference a new set makes. No more skipping at junctions, no juddering at full lock and the whole car just feels smoother on the road. Wish I hadn't left it so long!
i have one of the new GTD's.. Brilliant road car.. It's done me well with 21k in past 10months commuting to work..
Just love the photo of the Elise against the grass, 3 good looking and shiny machines, mine are never that clean how did you manage it
Liar? Was convicted the Audi was Brown till I washed it this morning, turned out its Blue serves me right for living in turnip crunching land
I tested a snow foam lance on it on Saturday and left it to dwell and rinsed it off. Didn't actually wash or agitate it though.
Well we swapped for a good few miles as he wanted to drive mine. I must say it doesn't handle or sound like a diesel. It goes very well and stops immensely! Superb torque! Nice car and for me looks 10 times better than the R!
