Gonna have the 6yr one at rs in Leeds and have it mapped at same time if I can wait that long. Every1 says mapping is a must, well worth it..
Im thinking of adding some forged internals while it is getting its belts done next year, Should future proof it and give me that extra peace of mind for when it becomes a track car
Mine is 5 in a few months. It's only on 37k though and I've only recently completed its 37.5k service too. My service plan has gone to rat-shit now because of my low mileage (ie the mileage not marrying up with the 2 yr intervals), hence why I'm servicing it myself now. I've just ordered some gearbox oil, even though its probably not due. Brake fluid was done last year when I upgraded the hoses. I'm changing something or refreshing fluids every month at this rate. Jamie - did you do the ball joints yourself in the end? I remember you were on about it. I've still got the link for where to get them & I have access to a press. Heres a general question for everyone: At 6 years, would you change the cambelt, regardless of the low mileage. 6 yrs at 12.5k = 75k. I won't be anywhere near that. I was considering it anwyay as these things usually have a shelf life. Better safe than sorry.
Hi Chris, i would change the belts mate, as you say, better safe than sorry, had mine changed at 25K and 5 yrs.
Chris, I didn't bother doing them myself as i had a few other bits to get done as well. From what i can gather from speaking to the garage though they were a bit of a PITA and they had to try and source a couple of circlips and bolts as my ones were proper fucked and Renault wouldn't supply them separate.
Seen. I'll take it to Aarons then if need be. I'll get my belts done next year then I think. Regardless of mileage.
Hi, I have appr 48k miles and I haven't changed the suspension yet. I don' t have any serious issues but as I am getting used to the car I think I cannot notice the gradual wear of the shock absorbers. Will it be worthy to change them? Has anybody done this?
Rather than start a new thread I've just seen this so thought I'd reignite. im looking at getting a 250 and I've seen one coming up to 5 years old but only 30k. Form reading this is the 250 servicing schedule different from the r26? I assume belts and pump need doing at 5 yrs or 72k. Can an anyone help out with a servicing schedule
250/265 is 6yrs/75k We have a generic schedule on our website http://www.diamondmotors.net/our-prices/renault-service/ Mick
Thanks guys it seems ill have 15 months or so before I have to shell out. Kind of a bummer really I was trying to get the dealer to do it a few months ahead of time if I was to buy but its got ages yet.
