Dashcommand help

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by T&biskits, May 27, 2015.

  1. JUST DOWNLOADED DASHCOMMAND & PURCHASED A WIFI OBD THING. PLUGGED IN THE WIFI THING IN & OPENED UP DASHCOMMAND & IT KEEPS COMING UP WITH `INTERFACE NOT FOUND`. AS I AM NO COMPUTER GEEK , I HAVENT GOT A CLUE. I HAVE TRIED ALL SORTS OF STUFF FROM THEIR HELP SECTION BUT MOST OF IT DOES MY FRIGGIN SWEDE IN. ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON WHERE I AM GOING WRONG?

  2. Have you connected your phone or whatever device your using to the wifi the obd dongle gives off?

  3. Comes up on my iphone wifi setting , then dashcommand says `interface not found`. Thought it was going to be `plug & play`, but as my luck goes with anything technical, i am stumped & my patience is short.

  4. steps i took were:

plug wifi dongle into obd port

connect from iphone to wifi dongles own network

then start car and start app then click connect (centre button on app)

    thats all i did

  5. I was hoping that it was going to be that easy, but it isnt. Done all the above & ended up with the same old` cannot connect`. Its the iphone to dongle bit thats testing me. When it comes up on the phone, i click on it & bugger all happens!

  6. Give it another try tomorrow. Then either smash the dongle to bits or the phone. god i love modern technology.

  7. I've just purchased a similar product on iphone and used the free apps to ensure they connect.

I'd say, as mentioned above, follow those steps.

Make sure app is closed completely
    Car off
    plug dongle in
    ignition on
connect via phone - NOT app
    open app
double check settings for network connectivity
    voila - working app

Keep us posted as mine was bugging talking about ELM327 connection which is a load of balls.

  8. I got rev app, first sync with iphone wifi, done that, go to the app and u souhld have an ip adress on app options(duno wich on dash comand), donde that it should conect

  9. I will give it a go tomorrow. Cheers for the feedback. I will fill you in on my outcome.

  10. What a crock of f**king shit this thing is. Absolutely no luck in connecting to it. Iphone finds it on wifi, then when you click on to join, it says `unable to join ObD2`. Tried it with car off & app off, car on, f88k all.

  11. try 192.168.0.74:23 that the ip on rev

  12. I have input what palmer performance(dashcommand) have on there help page. My phone will not connect to the dongle, let alone the Dashcommand app.

  13. Donwload REV

  14. is it compatible with the 250? i know renault wasnt listed on the app but the 225 worked didnt know whether it would be different. Although i would of thought any obd port on any car would work?

  15. My thoughts exactly. Will give it another go, but i`m getting seriously p**sed off with it.

  16. This might sound like a really silly question, but you're connecting to the dongle like you would if you were connecting to a wireless router first...yes?
Have you tried tapping on the 'i' symbol then 'forger network' then turning wifi off then on again, then trying to reconnect to it?

  17. Don`t make sense to me as i`m `technically challenged`! i.e no patience, but will have a look. Cheers

  18. If i tap on the `i` symbol, there is nothing on my iphone that says `forger network. The phone is sat next to the dongle & very rarely picks the thing up, no matter what way i do it. If you tap on it when it does come up, there is nothing in the `static` box or the ip line, its all empty. Surely my fone should go, oh look ,a dongle , do u want to join, ` yesplease`, we are joined. Bobs your uncle. Not this f**kin hoo ha.

  19. Surely, when my phone picks up the device, there should be info in the ip box & static box?

  20. Donwload Rev, tehere is i lite versionso u´ll now if it sync

I seem to remember I had to setup a wireless profile for my dongle when I first got it. Maybe that's what you need to do so that the phone recognises it?

Can't remember the exact procedure, but once it was done I've never had an issue with it connecting since.

Or you could just be unlucky and have a dodgey dongle.

  22. My misses tells me i have a dodgy dongle.

  23. Sounds right , but i havent got a clue as i aint wasting anymore time with the shit.Phone pics it up, every now & then, but wont join. Have emailed the ebayers who sell them, but they just said that its not ELM , but CLK device, but that doesnt show up anywhere.

  24. Laptop won't even connect to it. Anyone recommend a different dongle? Surely when my iPhone scans for wifi & it picks up signal, there should be all the info regards ip & all stuff regards the dongle.?
