On an almost full lock right turn in a car park Friday night I had a strange rubbing grinding noise from the osf to add to this the steering has slightly become vague over the last week or so but I had swapped tyres about and at first put it down to this until Friday thinking about it now I noticed the osf had worn a bit more than the nfs. Anyway yesterday I had the front up and the osf lower ball joint is toast I'm amazed at how well the car has still been driving considering the amount of play in it. Im seriously considering swapping my 19s for 18s as the roads by me are so bad on the 19s both lower ball joint were only done about 14months ago and osf has failed already. So I'm considering doing this one myself and have a question? I maybe mistaken but I'm sure when talking to Fred at btm a while ago you can now get the hub carrier with the joints pre pressed? If anyone can help with this other wise I might as well get someone to do the job rather than strip it then have to take hub carrier to get joint pressed in ect... (Trying not to be without the car) Also is there anywhere else to get supply of parts rather then the 5day wait on the polish ones on eBay? Any help or knowledge on this pls.
Is that the ball joint Mark or the full hub carrier? Also how about you fancy doing it do you have stock lol?
Can get the full carrier but no one has any lower joints, I'm trying to source some at the mo I'll gladly do it as soon as I can get hold of them lol
Get them off eBay. May take a couple days to come but at least you'll get them. I know a few people using them without any issues.
I have looked at this eBay ones what are they like fitting into the hub carrier (ie removing old joint and getting new one to fit/press) anyone done this ?
Jamie on here has them fitted to his. He had no issues but I'm sure he will be along to comment when he sees it.
You should also speak to R-Sport in Wimbledon, they should have them as they are the same as they use on the Clio Cup cars they prepare. They certainly had some when I had mine serviced late last year.
As above, I had to replace all 4 swivel/ball joints on mine, Used the ones Mike linked. I didn't do it but SWR had no issues, Only thing was they had to source a couple of circles and bolts as the old ones were proper fucked and Renault won't supply them outwith the full assembly. AFAIK the ones the Polish seller lists are the same ones that the N4 Meganes run so should last longer. R-Sport Wimbledon probably have stock of them as well
What are they like getting the old one out? Or more so the new one in? is it deffo a press job or can it be tapped it? Would you say it's to much of a job to diy?
Thanks Jamie did you do your own? I could take the carrier off and take it to be pressed. With these solid n2 type joint I'm gonna need to do both sides then?
