Done the DA polishing, sealing and waxing and now I'm back to washing the car once a week. Maybe even using a detailing quick spray (poorboys spray and wipe) if I don't like the look of something sat on my paint and don't want to wait until the end of the week to clean it off. My question is, what do you guys recommend I should use regularly post wash? To spruce the car up? Leave it looking wet and smelling good for another week? I use either AG body shampoo or the wax safe dodo juice basics of bling when doing a normal wet wash. For info, I prepped the car with a claybar and some AG tar remover, polished with various cuts of Menzerna finishing with SF4500 all on a DA. Sealed with AG extra gloss protection. Waxed with AG HD wax. Car is ultra blue.
I ll say use allot of water(ideally a karcher), use a wet microfiber towel with couple of sprays of quick detail to dry
If you've waxed it with AG HD wax there's no need to apply a spray wax every time you wash it. Just dry the car and give it a buff with a dry MF. I use the HD wax and I'll only use a top up after say the 3rd wash so around 6 weeks after waxing. Then repeat.
I'm washing it once a week. So maybe it needs a top up as I've noticed it doesn't bead as well as it did. Perhaps I didn't put enough on
You only need one coat and it will easily last 4 months, you're probably washing it off with cleaning it so much. I find durability lasts a bit better if you wash it with cold water or luke warm. I waxed mine yesterday and It'll last me until at least Sept with a couple top ups. I use autobrite berry blast as a spray wax. Plus the beads will start to fade off with the 1st wash. Washing deteriorates the wax. Wash less, wax less.
I use C2v3 as a sealant, and mix some 5-1 in a bottle with distilled water. After every wash I use it as a drying aid and it keeps the protection topped up. It doesn't really need it as I get months out of the C2 anyway, but I'm slightly OCD about stuff.
I have both a tree and what seems the communal bird dumping area on my drive. Plus I work by the sea and get seagul crap on it most days. Literally had a banana sized bird dump land on it yesterday. It needs spraying off weekly (if not daily). Plus I do 500 miles a week and it still gets traffic grime and salt on it. No way I'm not washing it just so the wax under it lasts longer.
I would have thought a good quick detailing spray or spray wax would work for you. Personally, I'm using Auto Finesse Glisten or Finale to top up between waxing at the moment, so easy to apply and compliments the AF wax I currently have on the car at the moment. http://shop.autofinesse.co.uk/glisten-500ml All down to personal choice I guess, many other great products out there to choose from. http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/quick-detailing-sprays.html
I do have an AG aqua wax and the poorboys detailing spray in the garage. Think I'll wash it and just spray it down and buff off. Thanks everyone for your responses. In a weird way the UB paint looks good dulled off with lightly brake dusted alloys
Easiest sealant/protection I've ever used. Couple of sprays per panel, spread with a microfibre and buff with another, that's it. A full car takes 10 minutes max, it leave the paint feeling really slippery and the water repellency is amazing. I've got pots of wax and other sealants that haven't seen the light of day since I started using C2.
What's expensive, C2v3? It's 20 quid for a 500ml bottle that will do around 20 cars. It's not a quick detailer, it's a sealant in its own right and doesn't need to be used with anything else.
So £125 for five litres is cheap then! Just seemed expensive in that format. I'll get a 500ml bottle and give it a crack.
